History

Formed in 2004 by Raoul and Helmut Tellier, the group's name was derived from a Guy de Maupassant story of the same name. [3] Their first release was a cover of Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name" on a compilation album Travaux Publics in 2006. [4] They would later go onto release their first album La Maison Tellier in that year. They toured from late 2006 to early 2007 and released their second album Second Souffle in 2007 on the Euro-Visions label. [1] [5]

Their third album, L'Art de la Fugue, was released in 2010 via the Troisième Bureau label. [2] [3] The album incorporated "American traditions" and reached position 84 of the French album charts. [2] [6]

LEmprise 2022 studio album by Mylène Farmer

L'Emprise is the twelfth studio album by French recording artist Mylène Farmer, released on 25 November 2022 by Stuffed Monkey. The album was produced by Yoann Lemoine, AaRON and Moby, among others. Described as a return to the darker instrumentation of her earlier records, L'Emprise is a concept album which deals with a person who is under psychological manipulation and breaks free from it. In Farmer's words: "Who has not crossed the path of a so-called narcissistic pervert? Who has not one day been under the influence ("l’emprise") of such a person? Feminine or masculine, it doesn't matter. Ultrasensitive beings inhabited by doubts that gnaw at them are ideal prey. The important thing is to identify it and try to combat this grip. It's a theme that upsets me and often puts me in a black rage."
