Lake Charleston is a reservoir in Coles County, Illinois. [1] Served by Illinois Route 130, it is 2 miles (3 km) southeast of the Illinois city of Charleston. [2] Much of the lake is surrounded by city parkland, and a lakeside circular trail is 3.6 miles (6.0 km) in length. Power boats are allowed, but the lake enforces a no-wake rule. There is a fishing pier. [3]

The lake is located in Charleston Township and the adjacent Hutton Township. The reservoir is fed by the adjacent Embarras River, which was dammed by engineers to create the reservoir. [2] The reservoir is served by Exit 119 on Interstate 70 in nearby Cumberland County. [2]

The Calumet River is a system of heavily industrialized rivers and canals in the region between the south side of Chicago, Illinois, and the city of Gary, Indiana. Historically, the Little Calumet River and the Grand Calumet River were one, the former flowing west from Indiana into Illinois, then turning back east to its mouth at Lake Michigan at Marquette Park in Gary. The Manasquan Reservoir is a source of water for municipalities and utilities, as well as a 1,204-acre (4.87 km2) park, located in Howell Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The reservoir doubles as a park that is part of the Monmouth County Park System. The park has trails, a visitor's center, a nature/environmental center, a boat launching area and several dikes for fishing, among its facilities. The reservoir itself, which is dammed from the Manasquan River, is operated by the New Jersey Water Supply Authority, which is a part of the much larger Raritan Basin Watershed. The nature trails circling around the reservoir are what makes this county park as one of the most popular hiking destinations in Central New Jersey, as the park receives over one million visitors a year. It is reachable by car and there are five parking lots, including one for vehicles hauling trailers. The park's trails are open to walkers, runners, hikers, bicyclists and equestrians.

The Ford Lake Dam is an earthen, multi-arch hydroelectric gravity dam and powerhouse crossing the Huron River in Ypsilanti Charter Township in Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The dam was constructed in 1931–1932 and created the Ford Lake reservoir at 975 acres (395 ha).

Lake Centralia is a reservoir in Marion County, Illinois. Served by rural roads, it is 8 miles east of the Illinois city of Centralia. The reservoir is 412 acres in size, has a shoreline length of 12.9 miles, and possesses an average water depth of 10 feet. The city, which owns the lake for water-supply purposes, works with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to stock it with fish. The IDNR reports that lake fishing specializes in stocked bass, including largemouth bass. The lake also offers channel catfish, white and black crappies, and bluegill. The marina is located on the north side of the lake, and there are no restrictions on boat fishing.
