Lancaster, also known as the Red Rose City is a city in South Central Pennsylvania, that serves as the seat of Pennsylvania's Lancaster County and is one of the oldest inland towns in the United States. With a population at the 2010 census of 59,322, it ranks eighth in population among Pennsylvania's cities. The Lancaster metropolitan area population is 507,766, making it the 104th-largest metropolitan area in the U.S. and second-largest in the South Central Pennsylvania area.
The Continental Basketball Association (CBA) was a men's professional basketball minor league in the United States from 1946 to 2009.
Ronald Lancaster was an American-Canadian professional football player and coach in the Canadian Football League (CFL). As the starting quarterback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for 16 seasons, he led the team to its first Grey Cup championship in 1966 and is the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards, attempts, completions, touchdowns, and interceptions. At the time of his retirement, he was the CFL's career leader in passing yards and still ranks sixth overall as of 2016. After his retirement as a player, he served as a head coach and general manager in the CFL; he led his teams to two Grey Cups and currently ranks fourth all-time with 142 regular season wins. He was also a colour commentator on the CFL on CBC from 1981 to 1990. At the time of his death, he was the Senior Director of Football Operations of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (1982), Canada's Sports Hall of Fame (1985) and the Wittenberg University Athletic Hall of Honour (1985).
Cazzie Lee Russell is an American former professional basketball player and coach. An NBA All-Star, he was selected by the New York Knicks with the first overall pick of the 1966 NBA draft. He won an NBA championship with the Knicks in 1970.

The Lancaster Red Roses were a professional basketball team based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. From 1946 to 1949 and from 1953 to 1955, they played in the Eastern Professional Basketball League, of which the Red Roses were one of the six original teams. The Red Roses also played briefly as the Lancaster Rockets. They were members of the Eastern Basketball Association from 1975 to 1978, and the Continental Basketball Association from 1979 to 1980. The Red Roses were members of the American Basketball League briefly in the 1946-47 season, where they were known as the Lancaster Roses.
Garden Spot High School is located in New Holland, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 1954, this is the only senior high school in the Eastern Lancaster County School District. It is attached to Garden Spot Middle School, making it easy for those students to go to the high school. It was joined together from six small schools, starting in 1947.

Glenn E. "Smiles" Mosley is an American former professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Mosley played in the league for just the 1977–78 and 1978–79 seasons and averaged 3.1 points 2.2 rebounds per game. Mosley also played for part of one season in the Continental Basketball Association for the Lancaster Red Roses in 1978, and after his NBA career he played abroad in Italy, France and Argentina. While playing for CSP Limoges in France, Mosley won the Ligue Nationale de Basketball and Korać Cup in 1983.
Lancaster High School is located in Lancaster, South Carolina, a small city approximately 35 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina. The school serves students in grades 9–12 with a program that provides AP and honors classes, college preparatory classes, a vocational/technical program, and range of classes and services for students with special needs. Henry Harry Donovan is an American former professional basketball player. Donovan was selected in the second round in the 1949 BAA draft by the New York Knicks. He played for the Knicks in 1949–50, then spent two seasons playing in the American Basketball League. Donovan was a two-time all-league selection while he played for the Lancaster Rockets of the Eastern Professional Basketball League (EPBL) from 1951 to 1953.
Harry Lancaster was an American college sports coach and administrator. He was an assistant men's basketball coach at Kentucky for more than 20 seasons under Adolph Rupp. He was also Kentucky's head baseball coach in 1947 and from 1951 to 1965. Lancaster attended Georgetown College in Kentucky, where he played basketball and baseball.
