Lanka Tribune is a fortnightly free community newspaper published for Sri Lankans in the United Kingdom. The newspaper was launched in the UK in 2007 in compact size.

Contents

The newspaper is edited by Rasantha Cooray and published in Harrow, Middlesex. Lanka Tribune is registered as a newspaper in the UK and distributed in - London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leicester, Dublin, Glasgow, Colombo, Frankfurt, Paris and Rome.

The paper provides both community news for British Sri Lankans and news from the island of Sri Lanka.

The Mayor of Colombo is the Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council. The post was created in 1866 when the Colombo Municipal Council was established by the Legislative Council of Ceylon. Sri Lanka participated at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its sixteenth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1948 Summer Olympics, having missed only the 1976 Games. The delegation consisted of seven competitors: two athletics competitors, two badminton players one shooter and two short-distance swimmers. Cooray, Samarakoon and Karunaratne qualified for the Games by meeting their respective qualifying standards; the remainder of the team entered through wildcard or quota places. Karunarante was the flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Reginald Cooray is a Sri Lankan teacher and politician. He is a former provincial chief minister and a former government minister. He is the 5th Governor of the Northern Province, and was briefly the Governor of the Central Province in April 2018, his tenure lasting for less than 24 hours, making it the shortest of any Governorship in Sri Lankan history.

Ravindu Rasantha is a Sri Lankan cricketer. In January 2020, Rasantha was named in Sri Lanka's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. On 27 January 2020, in Sri Lanka's plate quarter-final against Nigeria, Rasantha scored 102 not out. Following the conclusion of the tournament, Rasantha was named in the U19 World Cup Team of the Tournament, the only Sri Lankan cricketer to be named in the team.
