Lappert's is an ice cream manufacturer, producing "super-premium" ice cream, based on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. The company runs the largest ice cream chain in Hawaii. [1]

Lappert's was founded by Walter Lappert when he retired to Hawaii with his second wife Mary and opened an ice cream store. [2] [3] The first batch of ice cream was created on the island of Kauai on December 21, 1983. [4]

Lappert's ice cream is featured in many other independently owned stores. To date, the company has created 8 unique, original flavors which address specific regional demands. [5] [6]

In addition to ice cream, the Lappert's roasts and sells gourmet coffee. [7]

Walter Lappert's son, Michael Lappert, the owner of Lapperts Ice Cream inc operates the manufacturing facility on the continental US. [8]

He rode a wave of enthusiasm for gourmet luxury foods using fresh, high-quality local ingredients in Hawaii. Lappert's Aloha Ice Cream grew to have annual revenues exceeding $15 million in six U.S. states and produced 18,000 gallons of unique flavors of ice cream each month. Using Belgian chocolate, vanilla beans from Madagascar, local macadamia nuts, guava, and coffee beans from Kona, Lappert created a menu of 125 flavors.

Moose Tracks is a branded flavor of ice cream owned and licensed by Denali Flavors Inc. that is manufactured by different companies under various brands. The Original Moose Tracks product description is as follows, "vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and famous Moose Tracks fudge".
