Laura Hughes (born 24 March 1993) is a Welsh weightlifter. [1] She competed in the women's 75 kg event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning the bronze medal. [2] [3]
Weightlifting is one of the sports at the quadrennial Commonwealth Games competition. It has been a Commonwealth Games sport since 1950. It is a core sport and must be included in the sporting programme of each edition of the Games.

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu is an Indian weightlifter. Mirabai Chanu lifted a total of 201 kg, winning the gold medal at the CWG 2022. She won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the Women's 49 kg category. Mirabai Chanu has won the World Championships and multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions to the sport. She was awarded the sporting honour Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna by the Government of India in 2018.

Charisma Precious Amoe-Tarrant is a Nauruan-born Australian weightlifter. She competed in the women's +90 kg event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning the silver medal for Nauru. Amoe-Tarrant was selected for the Australian team at the Pacific Games held in Samoa in 2019, winning a bronze medal for the +87 kg snatch. Emily Campbell is a British weightlifter, the most successful British weightlifter of modern times. In 2021, competing in the +87 kg category, Campbell became both European champion, and the first British woman to win an Olympic medal in the sport, with silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In 2022 she retained her European title, won the Gold medal at her home Commonwealth Games in a new Commonwealth Games record, and upgraded her 2021 World Championships bronze medal to a silver in Bogota. In 2023, Campbell confirmed a hat-trick of three successive European titles.
Rachel Leblanc-Bazinet is a Canadian weightlifter. She competed in the women's 53 kg event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning the bronze medal. At the 2019 Pan American Games, Leblanc-Bazinet finished in fifth place in the 55 kg event. In June 2021, Leblanc-Bazinet was named in Canada's Olympic team.
Mona Pretorius is a South African weightlifter. She competed in the women's 63 kg event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning the bronze medal.
Kamila Konotop is a Ukrainian weightlifter. She won the silver medal in the women's 59 kg event at the 2023 World Weightlifting Championships held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She is a three-time medalist, including two gold medals, at the European Weightlifting Championships. In 2021, Konotop represented Ukraine at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
