Tovik is a village in Tjeldsund Municipality in Troms county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland at the entrance of the two fjords; Astafjorden and Vågsfjorden, and at a distance of about 35 kilometres (22 mi) from Harstad/Narvik Airport, Evenes. Tovik's population (2001) is 151.
Grov or Grovfjord is a village in Tjeldsund Municipality in Troms county, Norway. The village is located 12 km (7.5 mi) east of the village of Tovik along the Grovfjorden at a very narrow point in the fjord. It is about 60 km (37 mi) southeast of the town of Harstad and about 71 km (44 mi) west of the town of Narvik. The Moelva and Gårdselva rivers flow through the village into the fjord. The 0.58-square-kilometre (140-acre) village has a population (2017) of 400 which gives the village a population density of 690 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,800/sq mi).
Tennevoll (Norwegian) or Deannja (Northern Sami) is the administrative centre of Lavangen Municipality in Troms county, Norway. The village lies about 50 kilometres (31 mi) straight east of the town of Harstad. Tennevoll is located at the end of the Lavangen fjord, along the river Spansdalselva, which flows through the Spansdalen valley. The 632-metre (2,073 ft) tall mountain Reinbergen sits just to the east of the village.
Astafjord is a former municipality in Troms county, Norway. The 310.1-square-kilometre (119.7 sq mi) municipality existed from 1926 until its dissolution in 1964. The area now makes up the eastern part of Tjeldsund Municipality, surrounding the Grovfjorden. The administrative center of the former municipality was the village of Grov where Astafjord Church is located. The Astafjorden (strait) flowed along the northern part of the municipality and it was the namesake for the municipality.

The village is located along the eastern shore of the Lavangen fjord, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of the administrative centre of Tennevoll and about 52 kilometres (32 mi) east of the town of Harstad. The village of Soløy lies immediately south of Å, forming one large village area through conurbation. The population (2001) of the village was 79.
Vågsfjorden (Norwegian) or Váhkvierddas (Northern Sami) is a fjord in the southern part of Troms county in Norway. The fjord is located between Norway's two largest islands, Hinnøya to the south and Senja to the north. The fjord connects to the Andfjorden and the Tranøyfjorden to the north, and to the Astafjorden and Tjeldsundet to the south. The smaller islands of Grytøya and Sandsøya lie on the western side of the fjord and the islands of Andørja and Rolla lie along the eastern side of the fjord.
Ofoten District Court was a district court in Nordland county in Norway. The court was based in the town of Narvik. The court existed until 2021. The court served the northeastern part of the Nordland county and a small part of south-central Troms county. It included the municipalities of Evenes, Hamarøy, Lødingen, Narvik, and Tjeldsund in Nordland plus Gratangen, Lavangen, and Salangen in Troms. Cases from this court could be appealed to Hålogaland Court of Appeal. The court was led by the chief judge Arne Eirik Kirkerud. The judicial staff consisted of one chief judge, two appointed professional judges, and one deputy judge. The chief judge was the president of the district court. He led the administration of the staff and appointed deputy judges for a period of up to three years. The judges divided their time approximately equally between criminal cases and civil cases.
Tjeldsund Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Tjeldsund Municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the village of Hol i Tjeldsund on the island of Tjeldøya. It is the main church for the Tjeldsund parish which is part of the Trondenes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1901 using plans drawn up by the architect Ole Scheistrøen. The church seats about 420 people.
Astafjorden (Norwegian) or Ástavierda (Northern Sami) is a fjord in Troms county, Norway. It flows through the municipalities of Salangen, Gratangen, Ibestad, and Tjeldsund. The 30-kilometre (19 mi) long fjord flows from the Salangen fjord in the east to the Vågsfjorden in the west. The 3.5-kilometre (2.2 mi) wide fjord separates the islands of Andørja and Rolla from the mainland. There are several small fjords that branch off this fjord including: Lavangen, Gratangen, Grovfjorden, and Salangen.

The 17-kilometre (11 mi) long fjord flows to the northwest and empties into the larger Astafjorden. The deepest point in the fjord reaches about 202 metres (663 ft) below sea level. The village of Tennevoll lies at the end of the fjord and the village of Å lies on the northern shore.
Hesjevika (Norwegian) or Heasseviika (Northern Sami) is a village area in Lavangen Municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the eastern side of the Lavangen fjord, between the villages of Å/Soløy and Tennevoll. There are about 50 houses in this village area.

The court in Harstad accepts cases from the municipalities of Harstad, Ibestad, Kvæfjord, and Tjeldsund. The court in Narvik accepts cases from the municipalities of Evenes, Gratangen, Lavangen, Lødingen, Narvik, and Salangen. The court in Sortland accepts cases from the municipalities of Andøy, Bø, Hadsel, Sortland, and Øksnes. The court is subordinate to the Hålogaland Court of Appeal.
