A Winter Tale launched the ReelWorld Film Festival 2007, and won the Tonya Lee Williams Award for Outstanding Canadian Feature, as well as Special Mention in the Outstanding Screenplay category. What My Mother Told Mepremiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1996, and has won awards at The Festival of Black International Cinema (Berlin, St Louis, Paris), "Best Film Depicting The Black Experience", and at Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival 2006, HBO Best Feature Award.
The Literature Alive documentary series won a Special Recognition Award for "Memory Places" at The Festival of Black International Cinema, and the Audience Award for "Blood Dub and The Matriarch" at the San Diego Women's Film Festival.

The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is the largest documentary festival in North America. The event takes place annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 27th edition of the festival took place online throughout May and June 2020. It premiered at the ReelWorld Film Festival where it won Solomon the Outstanding Canadian Feature Film Award, as well as Special Mention in the Outstanding Screenplay category. It subsequently screened at the Montreal World Film Festival, Atlantic Film Festival, Bite The Mango Film Festival, Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival & The New York African Diaspora Film Festival.

Lisa Wickham is a media producer-director-TV personality in Trinidad and Tobago. She began her television career at the age of six on the weekly Rikki Tikki Children's Show, a live programme on the only national TV station in Trinidad and Tobago at the time, Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT). Lisa literally grew up on national television, eventually hosting shows such as the daily morning prime-time news and talk show T&T This Morning, the daily mid-morning talk show Community Dateline and the iconic teen talent show Party Time. In 2005, the government of Trinidad and Tobago closed TTT and in 2006 re-opened the station under the name Caribbean New Media Group (CNMG). CNMG was then closed in 2018.

Maria Iliou is a Greek film director, scriptwriter and producer, well known in Greece and internationally both for her feature films and the historical documentaries she has directed in recent years. She was born in Greece and lives and works in Athens and New York City. Her most well-known films are the features, The Four Seasons (1996), Alexandria, a Love Story (2002) and the historical documentaries The Journey: The Greek American Dream (2007), Smyrna, The Destruction of a Cosmopolitan City, 1900–1922 (2012), From Both Sides of the Aegean (2012) and Dear Aunt Lena (2017). Her films have been shown in various countries and have won major distinctions and awards.
