Lee Mason is an Australian film, television and stage actor from Melbourne. He is probably best known for his lead role in The Independent as naive independent politician Marty Browning. This role garnered Mason many favourable reviews, with James Brown of FilmInk describing Marty as "the most charming protagonist since Kenny". [1] Recently awarded Best Actor in two major Film Festivals in 2016, Lee Mason has proved a unique character actor capable of lead roles and also memorable cameos. He has worked steadily in the Australian Film Industry for the last 10 years. He has worked as a Director, Writer and Producer. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Marty Browning in The Independent and more recently Raskolnikov in Crime & Punishment. Mason's most recent work is a production of Glengarry Glen Ross at the Chapel Off Chapel theatre in Prahran.

<i>Parallels</i> (film) 2015 television film

Parallels is a 2015 American science-fiction adventure film, originally conceived as a television pilot, derived from a story by Christopher Leone and Laura Harkcom. Mark Hapka, Jessica Rothe, Eric Jungmann, and Constance Wu star as people who are thrown into alternate Earths that range from subtly different to post-apocalyptic. It was released in March 2015 on the Netflix streaming service. It was announced on November 16, 2016 that Neil Gaiman would be collaborating with Christopher Leone and Albert Kim to adapt the teaser/trailer movie into a TV series, titled "The Building". However, to date no further information about the TV series has been released since 2016 and the project appears on hold.

The Independent is an Australian independent mockumentary film released in 2007, produced by Apocalypse Films. It chronicles the story of Marty Browning, a man who runs for state parliament in a Victorian by-election to save his family farm, backed by a shady businessman. He runs as an independent, but under the banner of "The Independent Party"; his plan is to form policies by asking members of the public for their opinions, thereby providing a direct public voice in parliament.

James Mason (Australian actor)

He then secured the role of Chris Pappas on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Chris was the show's first ever gay male regular character and won Mason wide recognition, including a Logie nomination for Most Popular New Talent in 2012.
