Les Brillant

Les Brillant was a French Canadian comedy television series that aired on TVA for three seasons between 1979 and 1982. A total of 101 episodes aired. It was broadcast as reruns during summertime throughout the 80's and is now regularly scheduled on the Prise 2 digital TV network.

Nanook's Great Hunt is a 1996 animated series of 26 episodes. It was co-produced by Elma Animation, Medver International Inc., and TF1, in association with Mediatoon. The series was created and produced by Serge Rosenzweig; the directors were Franck Bourgeron, Marc Perret, and Stéphane Roux; the executive producers were Paul Rozenberg, Dana Hastier, and Lyse Lafontaine; the writers were Françoise Charpiat, Sophie Decroisette and Serge Rosenzweig; music was by Xavier Cobo and Michaël Dune. The series first aired in France on Wednesday September 3, 1997, on TF1's TF! Jeunesse. It also aired in Canada in French on Mondays at 8 pm on Télétoon, and in English on Teletoon on Thursdays at 4:55 pm. A 70-minute special titled Nanook: le grand combat/Nanook - The Great Combat was produced in 1996 as well. The special was directed by Gérald Fleury.

Jules-André Brillant was a French Canadian entrepreneur who was active in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec from 1920 to 1962. He founded an electrical power company in 1922, a telephone company in 1927 and a shipping company operating in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in 1929. He also owned a newspaper, two radio stations and a television broadcaster among other enterprises. He was active in politics, and openly admitted that this was a factor in his business success. After he retired his children took over the business empire, which soon fell apart, with the component companies sold to larger Canadian or American firms.

Brillant was a 64-gun ship of the line of the French Navy. She was first classified as a Second-rank ship, and later reclassified as a Third-rank. She was built between 1689 and 1690 at Le Havre, under supervision by engineer Étienne Salicon. She served until 1719, and took part in the Nine Years' War (1688–1697) and the War of Spanish Succession (1702–1714).
