The series, which consists of 20 volumes, was published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J label from October 25, 2003, to February 25, 2015. A manga adaptation by 888 started serialization in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive on August 26, 2006. An anime television series adaptation produced by AIC+ aired from July 10 to September 25, 2010. Funimation has licensed and dubbed the anime series in English with their in-house production voice cast and released it on home media in 2012. Manga Entertainment has licensed the series in the UK.

It starred a new actress, Miori Takimoto, in the role of a young woman raised by an adopted family in Onomichi who learns of her real grandmother and decides to move to Osaka to start an okonomiyaki restaurant. The title word "teppan" refers to the metal surface on which okonomiyaki are cooked. Isekai Quartet: The Movie – Another World is a 2022 Japanese animated film featuring a crossover between the chibi-style characters of the light novel series Overlord, KonoSuba, Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, and The Rising of the Shield Hero, which are published by the divisions of Kadokawa Future Publishing. Produced by Studio Puyukai and distributed by Kadokawa Animation, the film is written and directed by Minoru Ashina. In the film, a wormhole brings Class 1 and 2 students to another world where out-of-control golems exist.
