Loose Ends are a British R&B band that had several hit records throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. The trio was formed in London in 1980, initially comprising vocalist and guitarist Carl McIntosh, vocalist Jane Eugene, and keyboard player, Steve Nichol. The latter two left the group in 1989 due to poor progression and since their departure the newer Loose Ends sound has gained higher chart positions globally and a wider fan base in the R&B genre through Carl McIntosh.

Following the release of Furtado's second album, Folklore (2003) through DreamWorks Records, it was announced that Universal Music Group would acquire DreamWorks Records, the latter was folded into the Interscope Geffen A&M umbrella where Furtado would release any new music. Recording sessions for the album took place from 2005 to 2006. Timbaland and his protégé Danja produced the bulk of the album, which incorporates influences of dance, R&B and hip hop. The album explores the theme of female sexuality and has been described as introspective.

Let It Loose is the tenth studio album by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, released in 1987. It is the first studio album credited to Estefan as a solo artist, but is her 10th album overall including her work with Miami Sound Machine. The album was re-released as Anything for You and with a different cover art in Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand from October 1988 to early 1989.
"Anything For You" is a 1988 ballad written by American singer and songwriter Gloria Estefan and sung by Estefan and Miami Sound Machine. The song appeared on their 1987 album, Let It Loose. After years of fluctuating success in the United States, "Anything for You" marked a massive breakthrough for the group when it managed to top the Billboard magazine Hot 100 chart on May 14, 1988, and remained there for two weeks. It marked the peak of the band's success in the 1980s and was the first of three number-ones for the band. Due to the success of the re-release of this signature song and the previous re-release in October 1988 from the single, "Can't Stay Away from You", outside North America the album Let It Loose saw a re-release named after the single "Anything For You". Both songs were intended to be part of Trainor's third major-label studio album Treat Myself (2020), but didn't make the final cut. Lyrically, the pop and dance song sees Trainor asking a shy male to join her on the dance floor.
