Liga 4 (English: League Four) is the fourth-tier of the football competition system in Indonesia, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia. The competition is organized by Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and the first season starts in 2024. [1] [2]

Format

Provincial phase

Each province will hold a provincial league, they are followed by amateur clubs without a limit of participants with different competition formats, the difference in the format is due to the different number of participants in each province. Furthermore, the teams that qualify from the provincial phase will compete in national phase. [1]

    The Indonesian football league system is a series of league system for association football clubs in Indonesia.     Liga Indonesia U-23 is a junior level league involving U-23 team of participating clubs in the Liga Indonesia. Building and managing a complete U-23 team is one of the requirements for clubs participating in the Liga Indonesia, as regulated by the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI).

    The 2013 Liga Indonesia First Division season is the eighteenth edition of Liga Indonesia First Division since its establishment in 1995. The competition is managed by PT. Liga Indonesia (LI).

    The 2014 Liga Indonesia First Division season is the last (19th) edition of Liga Indonesia First Division before the league merged with the Liga Nusantara on 2015 season. After removal of Badan Liga Sepakbola Amatir Indonesia (BLAI) First Division this season is managed by PSSI competition committee and further delegated to the PT. Liga Indonesia (LI).

    The Elite Pro Academy is an Indonesian system of youth football leagues that are operated by the Liga Indonesia Baru. The system covers the under-16 since 2018, under-18 and under-20 age groups since 2019 & under-14 age groups since 2022. The league runs in conjunction with the Liga 1 as a developmental league. It is contested by 18 teams which compete in the Liga 1.

    The 2020 Liga 2 was the fourth season of the Liga 2 under its current name and the 11th season under its current league structure. The season was suspended on 27 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season was abandoned and was declared void on 20 January 2021.

    The 2020 Liga 3 would be the fourth season of the Liga 3 under its current name, the fifth season under its current league structure, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia. It was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

    The 2021–22 Liga 3 is the sixth season of the Liga 3 under its current name, the seventh season under its current league structure, and the only amateur league football competition in Indonesia.

    The 2024–25 Liga Nusantara will be the inaugural season of the Liga Nusantara under its current name and the 10th season under its current league structure. For the first time since its establishment, the competition will be organised by PT Liga Indonesia Baru, after previous editions were organised by both Provincial Association of PSSI and PSSI themselves, thus abolishing the provincial and national phase format.

    The 2024–25 Liga 4 West Java Series 1 will be the inaugural season of Liga 4 West Java Series 1 as a qualifying round for the national phase of the 2024–25 Liga 4. The competition will be organised by the West Java Provincial PSSI Association.

    The 2024–25 Liga 4 West Java Series 2 will be the inaugural season of Liga 4 West Java Series 2 as second division of Liga 4 West Java. The competition will be organised by the West Java Provincial PSSI Association.
