Rugby union in Poland is a moderately popular sport and currently, the Polish men`s national team are ranked 30th in the world as of 20th November 2022. The Poland women's rugby sevens team won the silver medal at the 2023 European Games behind Great Britain, progressing to the final 2024 Summer Olympic qualification tournament.

Kateřina Mrázová is a Czech ice hockey forward and a member of the Czech national team, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Metropolitan Riveters. Known for her stickhandling skill, she was the first European player to win the Clarkson Cup, winning the championship with the Boston Blades in 2013, and the first Czech player to score a goal in the National Women's Hockey League.

The 2014 Rugby Europe Women's Trophy was held in Belgium. It was held from October 30 to November 2, 2014. The Czech Republic and Switzerland had a qualification play-off in June, prior to the main tournament. Switzerland joined three other teams to compete for the Rugby Europe Women's Trophy.

Polish Rugby Union, abbreviated to PZR, is the only legal Polish representative of Polish rugby union and rugby sevens for both men and women's rugby and all age groups.

Qualifying for the 2019 Rugby World Cup for European Rugby began in September 2016, where 5 teams are competing for one direct qualification spot into the final tournament, and a further 26 teams competing, alongside the initial 5 teams, for a place in the Europe/Oceania play-off and or repechage.

The 2018–19 Rugby Europe Women's Trophy was the 20th edition of Rugby Europe's second division competition for women's national rugby union teams. The tournament was contested by the Czech Republic, Finland and Switzerland as a round-robin played over two seasons in 2018 and 2019.

The 2021–22 Rugby Europe Women's Trophy was the 21st edition of Rugby Europe's second division competition for women's national rugby union teams. It will be contested in two pools. Pool A plays a single round-robin while Pool B will only play matches they can play. Sweden won the Trophy championship after beating Switzerland 48–0 in the final round.

The 2021 Rugby Europe U20 Championship was the fourth edition of the tournament. It took place in Coimbra, Portugal between 7–13 November. The competition consisted of eight teams and was a direct eliminations tournament with classification matches. All the teams played three matches during the competition. Spain defeated Portugal 15–9 to win the Under 20 Championship. Czechia and Poland had qualified for the U20 Championship in a qualifier that included Switzerland in the 2019/2020 season.

The 2022–23 Rugby Europe Women's Trophy is the 22nd edition of Rugby Europe's second division competition for women's national rugby union teams. The winner of the tournament will be promoted to the 2024 Championship.
