Idaho State University has NCAA Tournament appearances in 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1974, 1977 and 1987. The teams reached the sweet 16 in 1954, 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1977. The Bengals reached the Elite Eight in 1977.^[1]^[2]

Led by seven-foot (2.13 m) senior center Steve Hayes, they finished the regular season at 21–4 overall, with a 13–1 record in the Big Sky Conference.

The 1959–60 Washington Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Washington for the 1959–60 NCAA University Division basketball season. Led by first-year head coach John Grayson, the Huskies were members of the Athletic Association of Western Universities and played their home games on campus at Hec Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle, Washington.
