Anthony Howard Lockett is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club and Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Nicknamed “Plugger”, Lockett is considered one of the greatest full forwards in the game's history. Inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and upgraded to Legend status in 2015, he is the most prolific goal kicker in VFL/AFL history, breaking Gordon Coventry's record in 1999 and eventually finishing with 1,360 goals in 281 games. He became the first full-forward to be awarded the Brownlow Medal in 1987, won the Coleman Medal four times, and kicked more than 100 goals in a season on six occasions.

Stuart Maxfield is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for Richmond and the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was the Swans' captain until 5 May 2005, when he stood down from the position.

Paul Roos is a former Australian rules football coach who coached the Sydney Swans and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). As a player, he represented Fitzroy and Sydney during the 1980s and 1990s.

Barry Hall is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club, Sydney Swans and Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is considered to be one of the best forwards of the modern era, being named All-Australian, leading his club's goalkicking on eleven occasions and captaining the Sydney Swans to their 2005 AFL Grand Final victory. In July 2011, Hall created history by becoming the first player to kick 100 goals for three AFL teams.

The Bob Skilton Medal is an annual Australian rules football award presented to the player(s) adjudged the best and fairest at the Sydney Swans throughout the Victorian Football League/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL) season. It is named after Bob Skilton, who won the award a record nine times from 1958 to 1968. The voting system as of the 2017 AFL season, consists of five coaches giving an undetermined number of players up to ten votes each after every match. Players can receive a maximum of 50 votes for a game.

Wayne Schwass is a former professional Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He is notable as being the first New Zealand-born AFL player known to be of Māori heritage.

Australian rules football in New South Wales

Australian rules football in New South Wales dates back to 1866 with organised competition being continuous since the 1880s. Today several regions are strongholds of the sport, including Broken Hill near South Australia, and the Riverina and the South Coast near Victoria. In other, more populous areas of New South Wales, including Sydney, Australian football trails behind rugby league in popularity. The AFL NSW/ACT is the governing body of the sport across the state and the Australian Capital Territory.

Lance Franklin Australian rules footballer (born 1987)

Lance Franklin, also known as Buddy Franklin, is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Hawthorn Football Club from 2005 to 2013. Regarded as the greatest forward of his generation and among the greatest players of all time, Franklin has kicked 1,036 goals, the most of any current player and the fifth-most in VFL/AFL history, and has been his clubs' leading goalkicker on twelve occasions, kicking at least 50 goals in each of those seasons. He has been selected in the All-Australian team on eight occasions, including as captain in the 2018 team, and has won four Coleman Medals throughout his career, with his biggest haul coming in 2008 with Hawthorn, when he kicked 113 goals.

Dennis Carroll is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was the last South Melbourne player to retire for Sydney.

Joshua P. Kennedy is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Hawthorn Football Club.

Mark Browning is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans from 1975 to 1987. He won the club's best and fairest award in 1983 and captained the Swans in 1984 and 1985. During his time with the Swans, Browning won the Simpson Medal for best on ground in the 1982 Western Australia v Victoria State of Origin match played in Perth.

Harrison Marsh Australian rules footballer

Harrison Marsh is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the Sydney Swans with their second selection and forty-fourth overall in the 2012 national draft. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 2015 season without playing an AFL match, he was however, re-drafted by Sydney as a rookie with the thirty-second pick in the 2016 rookie draft. He made his debut in the twenty-six point win against North Melbourne in round 10, 2016 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
