Mikaze Honjou (本庄 美風, Honjō Mikaze)

A candidate pilot. The 16-year-old main protagonist. Despite coming from an elite class pilot family, Mikaze initially had no interest in becoming a pilot and was an underachiever and a slacker. However, she learns later the importance of piloting.
Shizuha Doi (土井 静羽, Doi Shizuha)

A candidate pilot and also the daughter of a photographer. Studious and ambitious, Shizuha is the yes-woman of the group. Like Mikaze, she is also 16 years old.
Ayamo Nakamura (中村 彩雲, Nakamura Ayamo)

A candidate pilot and also the daughter of a politician. Ayamo is fiery and hot-headed and eager to become a Comet Blaster and is fed up with Mikaze's laziness. She is 17 years old making her the oldest.
Karin Kikuhara (菊原 香鈴, Kikuhara Karin)

A candidate pilot. Karin is a quiet girl who seems to be distracted from reality and likes to text-message her cell phone. She is afraid of cats in general and is 15 years old making her the youngest.

Kanokon (かのこん) is a Japanese light novel series by Katsumi Nishino, with illustrations by Koin. The first novel was released by Media Factory on October 31, 2005 under its MF Bunko J imprint, and it published 15 volumes until December 24, 2010. A manga adaptation illustrated by Rin Yamaki was serialized in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive between the August 2006 and August 2010 issues. A drama CD was produced by Media Factory and released on March 28, 2007. A twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Xebec aired in Japan between April and June 2008 on AT-X, and has been licensed by Media Blasters for release in North America. Night Head 2041 is a Japanese anime television series based on the 1992 Japanese television drama series Night Head. The series is animated by Shirogumi, directed by Takamitsu Hirakawa and written by George Iida, the director of the original drama. Original character designs are provided by Oh! great, while Kenichiro Tomiyasu is drawing the concept art. Yutaka Yamada is composing the series' music, and Slow Curve is credited for planning and production. It aired on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block from July to September 2021. <i>Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles</i> Japanese light novel series

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. It was serialized online between February 2014 and October 2020 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Hobby Japan, which has published the series under its HJ Bunko imprint since October 2015. A manga adaptation with art by tenkla was serialized online via Hobby Japan's Comic Fire website from October 2016 to February 2017, being discontinued because of the artist's poor health. A second manga adaptation with art by Futago Minaduki has been serialized online via the same website since July 2017. Both the light novel and the second manga have been licensed in North America by J-Novel Club. An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired from July to September 2021.
