Kollam district , earlier called Quilon district, is one of the 14 districts of Kerala state, India. The district is representative of all the natural attributes of Kerala states, and is endowed with a long coastal region, a major sea port on the Arabian Sea, plains and the mountains, lakes, lagoons and Kerala Backwaters, forests and the farm land, and rivers and streams. The area had mercantile relationship with Phoenicians and the Romans.

The TKM College of Engineering was the first Engineering College in Kollam, Later in 1999 College of Engineering Karunagappally was established it was the first Govt. Engineering College (Second Engineering College) in Kollam (Unit of IHRD, Govt of Kerala ) Later in 2000 -2001 College of Engineering Perumon was established ( Under CAPE, Govt. Of Kerala)

Kollampronunciation , known by its former name Quilonpronunciation  and Koolam, Coulão, and Desinganadu, is an ancient seaport and city on the Malabar Coast of India bordering the Laccadive Sea, which is a part of the Arabian Sea. The College of Engineering Perumon was started in 2000 under the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education Society. The society was formed to establish educational institutions to provide education and training, research and development, and consultancy. Karunagappally is a municipality in the Kollam district of Kerala, India. It is 24 km north of Kollam and 60 km (37 mi) south of Alappuzha. Karunagappally taluk consists of Alappad, Ochira, Adinad, Karunagappally, Thazhava, Pavumba, Thodiyoor, Kallalibhagom, Thevalakkara, Chavara, Neendakara, Clappana, Kulasekharapuram, Thekkumbhagam, Ayanivelikulangara, Panmana, Ponmana and Vadakumthala. The taluk is bound on the north by Kayamkulam, on the east by Kunnathur taluk, on the south by Kollam and on the west by the Arabian Sea. Ayoor Town in Kerala, Punalur

Ayoor is a Town in Edamulakkal Panchayath of Punalur Taluk, Kollam district, Kerala state, India. Ayoor is located on the M C Road or state highway one. It is 32 km east of Kollam City, 17 km south of Kottarakara and 55 km north of Thiruvananthapuram City. Punalur City is 19 Km, Anchal is 8 km away, Chadayamangalam and Kadakkal lies south of Ayoor. The place is a commercial center with rubber, paddy, cashew and pepper being the main trading items. The nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, 62 km south of Ayoor. Kollam Junction Railway Station is 31 km away.

Kudavattor Village in Kerala, India

Kudavattoor is a small village of the Kottarakara Taluk in the Kollam district of the Indian state of Kerala. In the local Malayalam language, kuda means "umbrella" and vattor "round". A predominantly rural village, Kudavattoor comes under the administration of the Veliyam Grama Panchayat made up of Marroor, Chirakarakonnam and Kudavattoor chandhamukku. The village is situated on the Kottarakara—Odanavattam—Kollam route, which provides access to Kollam via Kundara or Nedumankavu as well as to Kottarakara. Kollam, the district headquarters is situated about 25 km from Kudavattoor.

Vettikkavala is a village located in the Kollam district in the state of Kerala, India. One point of interest within the village is a Shiva-Vishnu temple which hosts a special deity called Vathukkal Njali Kunju. An annual celebration of Pongala is held at the temple. The village is also well known for temple arts and a palace constructed by Sree Moolam Thirunal.

Sree Narayana Polytechnic College (Malayalam: ശ്രീ നാരായണ പോളിടെക് നിക്ക് is located in Kottiyam near Kollam, Kerala in southern India. It is named after the Saint and social reformer "Sree Narayana Guru". SNPTC was founded in 1957, by the Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam under the initiative of the secretary, the late Sri.R.Sankar, former chief minister of Kerala. In the period 2006–07, the college celebrated its Golden Jubilee.

UKF College of Engineering and Technology

The UKF College of Engineering and Technology is an engineering college situated in Kalluvathukal Panchayath of Kollam district in Kerala, India. It is situated 9 km away from Varkala town, 24 km away from Kollam City and 48 km away from state capital city Trivandrum. Established in 2009, it is affiliated to the Kerala Technological University headquartered in Trivandrum city.
