Gravir, is a village on the shore of Loch Odhairn in the Park district of the Isle of Lewis. Gravir is within the parish of Lochs. There is a Free Church, a school and a voluntary fire station in the village. There is also a pier. Most of the plots of land used to be used for crofting, but this has declined in the last 50 years. The road leading to the village is the B8060, and continues on to Orinsay and Lemreway.

The Church of Scotland offices are located in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland at 121 George Street. These imposing buildings are popularly known in Church circles as "one-two-one". They were designed in a Scandinavian-influenced style by the architect Sydney Mitchell and built in 1909-1911 for the United Free Church of Scotland. Following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church of Scotland in 1929 the church offices were henceforth used by the newly united church.

The Diocese of Ross was an ecclesiastical territory or diocese in the Highland region of Scotland during the Middle Ages and Early modern period. The Diocese was led by the Bishop of Ross, and the cathedral was, latterly, at Fortrose. The bishops of the Early Church were located at Rosemarkie. Holyrood Abbey Church was a congregation of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was based in a late-Victorian church building on London Road, Abbeyhill, around 0.5 miles (0.80 km) north of Holyrood Abbey. The church building was opened in December 1900 as Abbeyhill United Free Church. The building is now used by the congregation of Meadowbank Church of Scotland, Edinburgh.
Arnisdale Free Church is a church building at one time connected to the Free Church of Scotland. It is sited in Arnisdale, Inverness-shire, Scotland. According to Ewing's The Annals of the Free Church, the original building was constructed in 1856 as a simple meeting-house connected to Glenelg Free Church of Scotland. Canmore, however, indicates that the current, and probably subsequent, structure - "a functional hall with shouldered arches to its windows and door" - was built in 1888 by architects Matthews and Lawrie. Free Church services were held here until c.2000, when the property was taken over by the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing)

John Macleod (1872-1948) was a Scottish minister and Principal of the Free Church College from 1929-43. He served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland and was the author of Scottish Theology in relation to Church History.
Rosskeen is a parish in Ross and Cromarty on the Cromarty Firth in northern Scotland, containing the settlements of Invergordon, Bridgend and Saltburn. It lies on the A9 between Inverness and Thurso.
