Brenda Villa is an American accomplished water polo player. She is the most decorated athlete in the world of women’s water polo. Villa was named Female Water Polo Player of the Decade for 2000-2009 by the FINA Aquatics World Magazine. She is one of four female players who competed in water polo at four Olympics; and one of two female athletes who won four Olympic medals in water polo. She is a leading goalscorer in Olympic water polo history, with 31 goals. In 2018, she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame.

Alfred Carel van Dorp was a Dutch water polo player who participated in three Summer Olympics with the Dutch Men's National Team. He was given the honour to carry the national flag of the Netherlands at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, becoming the eleventh water polo player to be a flag bearer at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics. After retiring he worked for many years as a water polo referee.

He won 15 NCAA national championships as player, assistant coach, and head coach at UCLA.

Cornelius "Cor" Braasem was a Dutch water polo player and coach, who captained the Dutch team at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics and trained it for the 1960 Games. He won a bronze medal in 1948, scoring six goals in seven matches. Four years later he played all nine matches and scored at least five goals. Though beating all their opponents, except for a 4:4 draw against the eventual winner Hungary, the Dutch team took fifth place through a dubious incident: after Yugoslavia lost to the Netherlands 2:3, it challenged the result based on a supposed partisanship of a referee, and won the replay 2:1.

Anton Ludwig "Tony" van Dorp was a Dutch-American water polo goalkeeper. He was born in Batavia, Dutch East Indies, to Dutch parents and played in the Netherlands and for the Dutch national team until 1963. However, since 1957 he lived most of the time in the United States and had the US citizenship. Thus he competed in the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics for the United States. He then played for the club Phillips 66, Long Beach, and became AAU All-American in 1964–68. In 1967, his team won the Pan American Games where he stopped 50% of penalty shots and was named the outstanding goalkeeper of the tournament. Beside water polo, he served for 21 years as an air traffic controller with the US Air Force in the US, Germany, and Vietnam.
Alexandra Hauka Nitta, usually referred to as "Sandra" or "Sandy" is an American former competition swimmer who represented the United States in the 100-meter breaststroke as a 15-year-old at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Highly instrumental in the development and advancement of women's Water Polo in America, she had a forty-year career as a water polo coach, and administrator with an induction into the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1998. In her longest coaching assignments, she was the US Women’s National Team Water Polo coach from 1980-1994, and coached Team Vegas/Henderson from 1994-99 and from 2000-2014, later serving as a Director.
