Lonely Crowd is a Norwegian/British psychedelic rock band.
After years of touring clubs around Europe, Norwegian/English psychedelic outfit Lonely Crowd started making their mark on the radio and even the charts in 2008, with the single "Aren't You Forgetting Something?". With the three hit singles they have had since, they look set to beat Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in terms of Norwegian hits, when the follow-up to their 2007 debut album, Watching From A Distance, is released. The album The Not-So-Great Britain was due in October 2012.
Lonely Crowd has existed in different forms since 1995, when singer Stig Jakobsen left the wildly eccentric Vampire State Building and immediately formed the band, with former members of De Press and Holy Toy. Full of self-confidence, they brought the Mega Records boss to their first gig, and were signed right away, more because of the phenomenal after-party than their live performance. (The party resulted in the band being forbidden to play in Tromsø ever again).
Lonely Crowd released three EPs on Mega, the second of which (Jesus In The Pub) became a radio hit in Norway, and was given rave reviews (six out of six in both Dagbladet and Panorama). The song featured the opera singer Anne-Lise Berntsen, and later became a mini-hit on XFM in London.
Lonely Crowd moved to London before Mega Records released their debut album. Here they set up a studio, and recorded and toured constantly for the next four years. Three of the original members were replaced by a Norwegian guitarist, Marius Gengenbach, and an English rhythm section consisting of double bass player Floyd Jensen and drummer James Corner (formerly of Back To The Planet and Barry Adamson).
Having made a bit of a name for themselves in England, Lonely Crowd were booked on a European tour and later played support to the Fun Lovin' Criminals at their London concert. The band was in the middle of negotiations with one of the larger indie labels in the UK when Jensen died from a sugar coma. The album material, however, was already completed, and most of it ended up on The Not-So-Great Britain album. An acoustic lineup of Lonely Crowd (with cello player Eirik Roald, Stine Varvin (formerly of Vampire State Building) on vocals and Stig Jakobsen on guitar/vocals) went on a Swiss tour, an England tour and played several shows in Norway during 2008-2009.
Lonely Crowd signed a two-album deal with Karisma Records, and release the three first EPs (plus two new tracks) as an album in November 2007, under the name Watching From a Distance. In July 2008 Lonely Crowd experienced their first summer hit, as they spent five weeks in the Norwegian Charts with the single "Aren't You Forgetting Something?". The release contained the first two songs from The Not So Great Britain album (that was eventually released in November 2012). The feat was repeated in August 2009, when the "She's Not Afraid" single reached number 18 in the Norwegian Chart. In May 2010, Lonely Crowd reached their highest position to this date, when "Cosmologies In The Making" made it to No. 12. They also managed two weeks in the Norwegian chart in the summer of 2011, with a single featuring the Norwegian rapper Vinni of Paperboys - "In The Eyes Of The World", and reached No. 3 in the Billboard Norway Digital Song Chart in March 2013 with "Golden Opportunity". Lonely Crowd have also collaborated with David Bowie guitarist Kevin Armstrong and footballer-cum-actor Vinnie Jones.
An extended play (EP) is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single but fewer than an album or LP record. Contemporary EPs generally contain up to eight tracks and have a playing time of 15 to 30 minutes. An EP is usually less cohesive than an album and more "non-committal".

Odd Nordstoga is a folk singer, musician, actor and editor from Vinje in Telemark, Norway. In 2004, he went from relative obscurity to becoming the country's biggest selling recording artist, with the phenomenal success of his first solo album proper, "Luring". The album, a fusion of pop and Norwegian folk music, has sold more than 160,000 copies in Norway to date and earned him several Spellemannsprisen awards. For the album Strålande Jul, released together with Sissel Kyrkjebø, he won an unprecedented 11 Norwegian platinum trophies.

The Kinks, an English rock band, were active for over three decades, from 1963 to 1996, releasing 26 studio albums and four live albums. The first two albums are differently released in the UK and the US, partly due to the difference in popularity of the extended play format, and partly due to the US albums including the hit singles, and the UK albums not; after The Kink Kontroversy in 1965 the albums were the same. Between 100 and 200 compilation albums have been released worldwide.
Taake is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1993 and originally named Thule. The band's one continuous member is Hoest, who writes all and records most of the music. Taake has released eight full-length albums and several EPs. The band describes itself as "True Norwegian black metal", and Hoest said he wants to "awaken national pride and cultural nostalgia" in Norwegian listeners as well as to remind people "that Hell is right here on Earth and that humans can be demons". All lyrics are in Hoest's native dialect and are printed in Norse runes. Taake is the old spelling of the Norwegian word tåke, meaning "fog".
"Pretty Flamingo" is a song written by Mark Barkan, which became a hit in 1966 when Manfred Mann's recording of it was released as a single. The single reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 5 May 1966. Manfred Mann's recording was a minor hit in the United States where it spent eight weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 29 during the week of August 6, 1966. It was also successful in Ireland, and was number one there for four weeks, keeping the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" at number two.

The Clubber Lang Band is an indie-rock band based in Bergen, Norway. The band consists of four members, Anders Johannessen - Vocals, Øystein Hagen - Guitar, Anders Dahle - Bass and Halvor Dahle - Drums, all graduates of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). Clubber Lang was formed in the winter of 2005, and recorded The Contender EP the following spring. The single "End of the World" reached No. 10 on VG singles chart in 2006. They are currently working on their new EP.
Zico Chain is a rock band from London, United Kingdom, formed in 2002. To date, they have released two full albums entitled Food and The Devil in Your Heart, a self-titled EP and an EP called These Birds Will Kill Us All. The band opened the main stage at the Download Festival on 8 June 2007. They supported Velvet Revolver on their 2007 summer tour of the UK, in support of their second album Libertad. Their new album The Devil in Your Heart was released on 16 April 2012.

The discography of Scottish rock band The Twilight Sad consists of five studio albums, four compilation albums, fifteen singles, and five extended plays (EPs). The band currently consists of James Graham, Andy MacFarlane, Johnny Docherty (bass), Brendan Smith (keyboards) and Sebastien Schultz (drums). The Kilsyth-based band formed in 2003 and were signed to Fat Cat Records when Alex Knight, co-founder of the label, went to Glasgow to watch the band perform their third gig and signed them on the spot. The band released their debut EP The Twilight Sad in November 2006 in the United States only, followed by their debut album Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters in April 2007, which garnered widespread critical acclaim. The album spawned two singles, "That Summer, at Home I Had Become the Invisible Boy" in April, and "And She Would Darken the Memory" in July. The following year, the band released Here, It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did, a mini-album of reworked versions of songs from Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters and two non-album tracks, inspired by stripped-down live performances. A collection of live versions and previously unreleased tracks entitled Killed My Parents and Hit the Road was released in December 2008. The Twilight Sad's second studio album, Forget the Night Ahead, was released in September 2009 to further acclaim and marked a shift in the band's direction towards a darker and more streamlined sound. The album produced three singles: "I Became a Prostitute" in August 2009, "Seven Years of Letters" in October 2009, and "The Room" in April 2010. Founding bassist Craig Orzel left the band in February 2010, and the band released The Wrong Car EP in September of that year.
Stig Gustu Larsen, born in 1986 in Hedmark, Norway, is a singer as well as a songwriter best known for his participation in season 5 of The Voice Norway. Larsen started playing guitar and drums at the age of 5, and is the former front-man of the rock band Gustu, signed with FAJo Records in 2019.
