FasTrak is the electronic toll collection (ETC) system used in the state of California in the United States. The system is used statewide on all of the toll roads, toll bridges, and high-occupancy toll lanes along the California Freeway and Expressway System.
Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) is the main railway station in Los Angeles, California, and the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States. It opened in May 1939 as the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, replacing La Grande Station and Central Station.
The Expo Line is a 15.2 mi (24.5 km) light rail line that runs between Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. The line is named after Exposition Boulevard, which it runs alongside for most of its route. It is one of the six lines in the Metro Rail system, and is operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
The Southern California Rapid Transit District, was the successor to the original Metropolitan Transit Authority after it became apparent that it was under-powered for the job of remaking mass transit in Los Angeles, and a public relations problem for elected officials when it rejected monorails after years of study and embraced subway along Wilshire Boulevard as its Backbone Route. RTD was created by an act of the California State Legislature in 1964 sponsored by State Senator Thomas M. Rees in large part to correct the deficiencies of the LAMTA, and took over all of the bus service operated by MTA on November 5, 1964. RTD was merged into the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in 1993.
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation, commonly referred to as LADOT, is a municipal agency that oversees transportation planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations within the City of Los Angeles. LADOT was created by city ordinance, and is run by a general manager appointed by the Mayor of Los Angeles, under the oversight of a citizens' commission also appointed by the mayor. LADOT is best known for providing public transportation to the City of Los Angeles. It currently operates the second-largest fleet in Los Angeles County next to Metro. It consist of over 300 vehicles, serving nearly 30 million passengers a year and operating over 800,000 hours.
The Financial District is a neighborhood in Downtown Los Angeles south of the Bunker Hill district. The two neighborhoods are divided roughly at 5th Street. Like Bunker Hill, the Financial District is home to corporate office skyscrapers, hotels and related services as well as banks, law firms, and real estate companies.
The Purple Line is a heavy rail subway line operating in Los Angeles, running between downtown and the Mid-Wilshire/Koreatown districts. It is one of six lines on the Metro Rail System, operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs is a Metrolink rail station in the city of Norwalk, California. It is served by Metrolink's 91 Line from Los Angeles Union Station to Riverside and Metrolink's Orange County Line running from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside. On weekdays, this station is served by 19 Orange County Line trains and nine 91 Line trains. On weekends, eight Orange County Line trains and four 91 Line trains serve this station.
The Regional Connector Transit Corridor is a light rail tunnel connection currently being built through Downtown Los Angeles to connect the current Metro Rail Blue and Expo Lines to the current Gold Line and Union Station. When completed, the project will provide a one-seat ride into the core of Downtown LA for passengers on these lines who currently need to transfer, and will reduce or eliminate transfers for many passengers traveling across the region via downtown.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates a vast fleet of buses. As of 2009, Metro operated the second-largest bus fleet in North America, with a total of 2,472 buses.

He was sworn in on January 27, 2007, replacing Jack Requa, the acting General Manager. Catoe was born and raised in a low-income area of Washington, D.C. and spent the majority of his childhood in the city, graduating from Spingarn High School. In his early 20s he moved to Southern California where he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Redlands, Redlands. California. He currently resides in Santa Monica, CA.
