The International Shooting Sport Federation, also known with the acronym ISSF, is the governing body of the Olympic Shooting events in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun disciplines, and of several non-Olympic Shooting sport events. ISSF’s activities include regulation of the sport, Olympic qualifications and organization of international competitions such as the ISSF World Cup Series, the ISSF World Cup Finals, the ISSF Separate World Championship in Shotgun events and the ISSF World Championship in all events.
The ISSF World Cup was introduced by the International Shooting Sport Federation in 1986 to provide a homogeneous system for qualification to the Olympic shooting competitions. It still is carried out in the Olympic shooting events, with four competitions per year in each event. For the best shooters there is since 1988 a World Cup Final.

Warren James Potent is an Australian sport shooter. He won the bronze medal in the 50 metre rifle prone at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He won two of the four competitions during the 2007 World Cup season. In the 2008 ISSF World Cup, he won two bronzes as well as the gold in the pre-Olympic event in Beijing, where he equalled Christian Klees's then world record for the final aggregate score. At the 2014 ISSF World Championships in Grenada he became the 50 metre rifle prone World Champion.
Liu Tianyou, is a male Chinese sport shooter. He won the gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in the Men's 10 m Air Rifle event.

Petra Zublasing is an Italian sports shooter who won the 10 m air rifle event at the 2014 World Championships.
Leif Steinar Rolland is a Norwegian sport shooter. He was born in Bergen. He competed at the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. He made World Record in the 10m Air Rifle category first in the 1997 Munich World Cup and then at the 2001 World Cup in Seoul. He is the former coach of the Norway shooting team. He is the coach of Indian air rifle shooter Pushan Jain.
Shooting competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 14 August at the National Shooting Center in Deodoro. A maximum of 390 athletes were able to compete in the fifteen events across these Games. The event format was similar to 2012, although there were significant changes to the rules and guidelines of the competition.

PNSA is the Philippine shooting sport NSA recognized by and a regular member of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), funded by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

She has competed for Team USA, as a 22-year-old, in small-bore rifle shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and has won a gold medal in the rifle three positions at the 2008 ISSF World Cup meet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Outside her world and Olympic career, Hicks was an eight-time All-American for Murray State University from 2000 to 2004, where she became the NCAA air rifle champion on her senior season.
Martina Lindsay Veloso is a Singaporean sports shooter. She won the gold medal in the 2014 ISSF World Cup in the 10 meters Air Rifle Women event and thus becoming the youngest ISSF shooter in getting one. She has also won the silver medal in 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. She was named Sportsgirl of the Year for 2015.
José Santos Valdés Martinez is a Mexican sport shooter. He won the silver medal in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in the 10 meters Air Rifle 10m Air Rifle Mixed International Teams (Mixed-NOC) event.
