History

In 2005, Luces proposed to Alberto Servat, then editor of the section, to publish a vote on the newspaper's website to elect the most outstanding personalities in art, cinema, and literature; etc. Thus was born "The Best" survey. Given the support of the vote, a statuette was added, the can of light that is now a symbol of what was definitively called the Luces Awards. [2]

They are important awards of the Peruvian Arts Industry, which reward actors, presenters, television programs, films, plays, books, exhibitions, songs, concerts and for the second consecutive year they maintain the award for Podcast/digital program.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcement of the winners of the 16th installment was postponed until February 28, 2021, [4] which was postponed again, until April 17, 2021. [5]
