Lucila J. Sarsines Reyes, was a Peruvian performer and one of the most respected singers of her country, one of Peru's most famous Afro-Peruvian personalities as well as a symbol of Peruvian nationalism both in Peru and to expatriates. She was also known by the pseudonyms " La Morena de Oro del Perú", given to her by Augusto Ferrando, and " La Reina de la Popularidad".
María de Luz Flores Aceves, known by her stage name Lucha Reyes, was a Mexican singer and Actor. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, she was popular in the 1930s and 1940s and has been called the "mother of ranchera music".
Sangre Chicana is the ring name of Mexican professional wrestler retired Andrés Durán Reyes. Reyes made his professional wrestling debut in 1973, wearing a red mask with a gold stripe, under the name Lemus. A year later he changed his name to Sangre Chicana but kept the mask with the golden stripe. He rose to prominence in a feud with El Cobarde and Fishman that led to a Lucha de Apuesta, mask vs. mask match where Reyes lost his mask.
The Rey de Reyes is an annual tournament held by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) comparable to World Wrestling Entertainment's King of the Ring tournament. For the first six tournaments the format consisted of four-way elimination matches with four qualifiers and a final, but in later tournaments the format changed. The winner is usually either currently one of the top faces or heels of the promotion or a wrestler that AAA is hoping to push to the main event position. The winner is presented with a sword, which some have carried with them for a full year. The event usually also features additional matches not related to the Rey de Reyes tournament.
Alan Stone is a Mexican professional wrestler who has competed in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre since the late 1990s. The son of luchador El Bello Greco, he is a second-generation wrestler along with his brothers Super Calo and Chris Stone with whom he teams with as Los Bellos Stones.
Erick Aguilar Muñoz is a Mexican luchador better known by the ring name Super Fly. He works for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) where he has worked since 2005. Super Fly is best known as a tecnico and the co-leader of the AAA wrestling group Real Fuerza Aérea, but has recently turned rudo and joined the group La Milicia and its umbrella group La Sociedad. Super Fly is the son of luchador El Seminarista, not to be confused with one of his trainers, Skayde, who has also wrestled under the same ring name.
Andrés Reyes González was a Mexican professional wrestler, or luchador, who was best known under the ring name Universo 2000. Reyes made his professional wrestling debut in 1985 and worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and, International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). Reyes was a part of a wrestling family that includes his brothers Carmelo and Jesús as well as his nephew that wrestles under the name Máscara Año 2000 Jr. Together with his brothers he formed a group called Los Hermanos Dinamita , also known as Los Capos when they teamed up with Apolo Dantés. Reyes was the only three-time CMLL World Heavyweight Champion in the history of the championship. He was originally an Enmascarado, a masked wrestler, but lost his mask in a match against El Canek on September 17, 2004.

Valiente is a Mexican luchador enmáscarado, or masked professional wrestler, and is mainly known for his work in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Valiente's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Valiente is Spanish for "Valiant", expressed by the sword icon on his mask. Valiente won the 2008 and the 2012 Reyes del Aire tournaments and is a former Mexican National Welterweight and CMLL World Trios Champion.
Rafael Herbert Reyes is a Dominican born professional wrestler, who has worked most of his career as a Luchador in Mexico. Reyes has used many ring names during his career, most notably Kendo Star, El Salsero, Pierko el Boricua and currently wrestles as the enmascaradoHijo del Pierroth or El Limón. Reyes is a former holder of the Mexican National Welterweight Championship, having won it as "El Salsero" while working for the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promotion. Reyes changed his name from Hijo del Pierroth to Pierko el Boricua after Pierroth, Jr. withdrew his endorsement for the various Pierroths in wrestling.
The Rey de Reyes 2010 was a major annual professional wrestling show that also hosted that year's version of the Rey de Reyes tournament, produced by the Mexican wrestling promotion AAA. The show took place on March 12, 2010 in Querétaro, Mexico at Plaza de Toros Santa Maria in Querétaro, Querétaro, Mexico. The event was the 14th event produced under the Rey de Reyes name and also the 14th time that the Rey de Reyes tournament was held. The 2010 Rey de Reyes tournament saw Chessman win the title by defeating Marco Corleone and Hernandez. In addition to the Rey de Reyes tournament, the card featured a main event for the AAA Mega Championship, where champion El Mesias lost the title to Electroshock in a match that also featured Total Nonstop Action Wrestling's (TNA) Mr. Anderson. The surprise of the evening was the return of L.A. Park to AAA after years of legal battles over the "La Parka" name, mask and likeness. Upon his return, he immediately targeted AAA's version of La Parka.

His ring name is Spanish for "Mask of the year 2000", originally referring to the mask Reyes wore while wrestling. Reyes was forced to unmask when he lost a Lucha de Apuesta to Perro Aguayo in 1993. Throughout his career Reyes has often teamed with his two brothers Carmelo, who wrestles as Cien Caras and the late Andrés, who wrestled as Universo 2000, the three were collectively known as Los Hermanos Diniamita or Los Capos when they teamed with Apolo Dantés. Reyes has earned the nickname "El Padre de más de 20" by wrestling commentators even though he does not quite have 20 children.

The event took place on March 11, 2005 in the Convention Center in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The main focus of the 2006 Rey de Reyes show was the tenth annual Rey de Reyes tournament which was contested as a multiman elimination match that saw four teams of three compete against each other until one man remained in the end. The teams were: Team AAA, La Secta Cibernetica, Team TNA and Los Guapos. The undercard included a traditional six man "Lucha Libre rules" tag team match between two of AAA’s stables in Los Diabolicos and Real Fuerza Aérea.
The Rey de Reyes 2007 was the fourth 11th Rey de Reyes professional wrestling tournament and show, produced by the Mexican wrestling promotion AAA. The event took place on March 18, 2007 in the Toreo de Cuatro Caminos arena in Naucalpan, Mexico State, Mexico. The main focus of the 2007 Rey de Reyes show was the finals of the Rey de Reyes tournament and a match between the Stable "Los Hell Brothers" and the "Outsider" group known as La Legión Extranjera. As in previous years there were no qualifying matches for the Rey de Reyes; instead, six people competed in an elimination match to determine the 2007 Rey de Reyes. The participants in the finals were a mixture of AAA mainstays, a Total Nonstop Action Wrestling representative (Rhino) and two wrestlers making special appearances. Included in the show was the finals of a tournament to crown the first AAA World Tag Team Champions. During the tournament four teams all tied for first which meant that the four teams would face off in an elimination match to determine the new champions. The teams were the Black Family, The Mexican Powers, Los Guapos and Real Fuerza Aérea. The undercard included a storyline between Billy Boy and his real life father-in-law Gran Apache, which culminated in a Lucha de Apuestas match where both wrestlers put their hair on the line.

The main focus of the 2008 Rey de Reyes show was the twelfth annual Rey de Reyes tournament and a match between the top technico Cibernético and the top rudo El Mesias for the AAA Mega Championship which El Mesias held going into the event. The undercard included four qualifying matches for the Rey de Reyes leading to the traditional four man elimination match that led to the crowning of that year's Rey de Reyes. The undercard also saw the continuing feud between Konnan’s La Legión Extranjera and their altercations with wrestlers defending AAA. For this event La Legión Extranjera brought in two American wrestlers, Sabu and Scott Steiner, to strengthen their side. The other undercard storyline was that of Los Psycho Circus competing with The Black Family.
Ángel Omar Reyes Franco is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, better known as Máscara Año 2000 Jr. He is working for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), and International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). Máscara Año 2000 Jr. originally worked under a mask and his real name was not a matter of public record, until he lost his mask in a match in August 2012. His father Jesús Reyes González wrestled under the ring name Máscara Año 2000. He is a former holder of the IWRG Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship and a co-holder of the IWRG Intercontinental Tag Team Championship along with El Hijo de Cien Caras. In the United States he is best known through his appearance on the travel show Dhani Tackles the Globe, where he wrestled host Dhani Jones in an episode of the show's second season.

The match is based on CMLL's Reyes del Aire tournament which has an identical purpose, format and award. The winner is not normally awarded with a match for the CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship or the Mexican National Lightweight Championship, the two Mini-Estrellas championships that CMLL promotes, as a direct result of their tournament victory but has as times been used to build but either a championship match or storylines between rival wrestlers.
