Biography

Early life and education

He was a brilliant student at Nalanda College Colombo being awarded a gold medal in 1968 as the Best Student. He holds a B.A.(Hons.) degree and a B.Phil Degree, from University of Colombo.

Career

He counts over 35 years of wide-ranging experiences in Banking Industry and had held positions from Branch Manager and Senior Manager at the International Division to the post of Senior DGM. It was his initiative to establish the Overseas Customer Services (OCS) Unit of People's Bank, which later became the first division of the Bank to be fully computerised.

He is a Director of the Governing Board of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.

Hamilton Shirley Amerasinghe, CCS was a Sri Lankan diplomat and civil servant. University of Jaffna
