MTV Base is a British pay television music channel from ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia that focuses primarily on hip hop, R&B, grime, garage, reggae, funk, soul and dance music. It was launched as part of MTV's digital boutique of music channels on July 1, 1999 in both the United Kingdom and in Ireland. The channel was previously available in other European countries, but was replaced by the now-defunct MTV Dance (replaced by Club MTV) channel from March 2008. Following the closures of MTV OMG, MTV Rocks and Club MTV on 20 July 2020, MTV Base broadcasts a weekly chart based on Club MTV programming on Fridays. [1]

Africa

MTV Base Africa launched in February 2005 throughout the African continent. On 3 July 2013, Viacom International Media Networks Africa launched an localised feed of MTV Base exclusively for South Africa, [3] with local programming, advertising and VJs. [4]

France

MTV Base was launched in France on 21 December 2007. The channel was replaced by French versions of MTV Hits and BET on 17 November 2015.

MTV Rocks was a British pay television music channel that was operated by ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia. Its programming consisted of 24-hour non-stop rock/alternative music.

Launched as MTV Networks Europe (MTVNE) in 1987, with two offices in London and Amsterdam. MTV Germany

MTV Germany is a German language free-to-air television channel operated by ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. The channel launched on 7 March 1997 as MTV Central, as part of a regionalisation strategy by ViacomCBS, then MTV Networks Europe.

VH1 (European TV channel) Television channel

VH1 was a European music television channel owned by ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. It played a wide variety of music programs on a daily or weekly basis, and various VH1 original series.

MTV Hits (Australian and New Zealand TV channel)

MTV Hits is an Australian and New Zealand subscription music channel focused on hit music. The channel first launched in Australia in April 2007, and later launched in New Zealand on 1 December 2011.

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) is the international division of ViacomCBS. The division oversees the production, broadcasting and promotion of key ViacomCBS' brands outside of the United States. These brands include Paramount Network, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and Colors TV, as well as CBS-branded channels, which are co-owned with AMC Networks International. MTV Czech Republic is a 24-hour music and entertainment television channel that served the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The channel was launched on 29 November 2009 under a licensing agreement between MTV Networks Europe, a subsidiary of MTV Networks, owned by the current Viacom from its split of the old Viacom in 2005 and CME, the owner of TV Nova.

MTV Classic (British and Irish TV channel)

MTV Classic is a British pay television music channel from ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia. The channel was launched in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 1 July 1999 as VH1 Classic. It focuses on music videos and music specials from the 1960s onwards, sometimes featuring music videos and concert footage from as early as at least the 1940s or 1950s, such as Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" from 1942. It has also aired videos from the 2000s and early 2010s. "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles, the first video to air on the original MTV in 1981, was also the first music video to be played when the channel was rebranded as MTV Classic on 1 March 2010. Every November and December on some dates of each year, MTV Classic will play Christmas-themed music branded as MTV Xmas. Since the rebrand, Viacom has rebranded other international channels as MTV Classic. On 1 May 2010, VH1 Australia was rebranded as MTV Classic and on 10 January 2011, MTV Networks Europe launched an Italian version of the same channel, replacing MTV Gold.

Club MTV, formerly MTV Dance, is a European pay television music channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA that was separated from the UK channel on 27 May 2014. It broadcasts electronica, dance and r'n'b music programming. The channel is widely available throughout Europe.

MTV Base (African TV channel)

MTV Base is a 24-hour music channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. There are three different feeds of MTV Base Africa, with one catering for the South African audience known as MTV Base South, one for West Africa, and another for rest of Africa, although there have been criticisms the African feed broadcasts Nigerian music only.

Club MTV (British and Irish TV channel) British and Irish television channel

Club MTV was a 24-hour electronic dance music channel operated by ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia launched on 20 April 2001. Available in the United Kingdom and Ireland on subscription satellite and digital television services. The channel played dance, EDM, trance, house, rave, club, Eurodance and sometimes urban music. The channel, along with MTV OMG and MTV Rocks closed on 20 July 2020, with a chart based on the channel's former content airing on MTV Base. "High on Life" by Martin Garrix featuring Bonn was the last music video played on the channel.

MTV Hits (European TV channel) European television channel

MTV Hits is a 24-hour pop music television channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA launched on 27 May 2014. The channel is widely available throughout Europe, Africa and Latin America, except Brazil.
