Mailduwa Maha Vidyalaya.(commonly known as "Maliduwa m.v.") is a government school for boys and girls in Mailduwa, Akuressa, Matara, Sri Lanka which is located in the Akuressa Road Maliduwa Village. The college is situated in a hilly area, close to Akuressa Maliduwa main road with natural surroundings. The college was initially founded as a Buddhist school in 1931. The college presently consists of over 2500 students with children studying from primary level to secondary level education with a faculty of 50 teachers.

Akuressa electoral district was an electoral district of Sri Lanka between August 1947 and February 1989. The district was named after the town of Akuressa in Matara District, Southern Province. The 1978 Constitution of Sri Lanka introduced the proportional representation electoral system for electing members of Parliament. The existing 160 mainly single-member electoral districts were replaced with 22 multi-member electoral districts.
