The Bosna is the third longest river in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is considered one of the country's three major internal rivers, along with the Neretva and the Vrbas. The Bosut is a river in the Syrmia region of eastern Croatia and northwestern Serbia, a 186 km long left tributary of the Sava river. Slow and meandering, it originates from the confluence of Biđ and Berava rivers south of the city of Vinkovci, the only major city on its course, and then turns southeast. Near Lipovac it receives its major tributary Spačva, and then enters Serbia near Batrovci. In its lower course, Bosut flows through a forested area in the Spačva region. Usora is a river in central-northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It begins at the confluence of two smaller Usora rivers, Mala Usora and Velika Usora, at the town of Teslić. Usora runs for some 20 km northeast of Teslić, and becomes a left tributary of the Bosna River, south of Doboj. Its total length is 77.0 km (47.8 mi).

Kazani is regarded the most attractive place in the canyon, where round hollows, "kettles", give the impression of boiling water. The kettles are about half to one meter deep and 0,30 to 0,70 cm wide in radius, and they are frequent in the riverbed.

The Mala Bosna river is the headwater course of the Bosna river. The Mala Bosna runs through municipality of Ilidža at the outskirts of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its course is 3.6 kilometers long and stretches between its source, Vrelo Bosne, and a confluence with its largest tributary in this section, the Željeznica, which runs in from the right. The confluence of two rivers is locally known as Sastavci (transl. confluence). After two rivers merge at the Sastavci the course becomes simply known as the Bosna River. Its other tributaries in the area, beside the Željeznica, are the Stojčevac and Večerica rivers.
