Malavan Sport and Cultural Club is an Iranian multisport club based in Bandar Anzali, in Iran's Gilan province. It was established in 1969 under the supervision of the Iranian Navy and initially only had a football team which still exists today as Malavan Football Club.

Bandar-e Anzali, also Romanized as Bandar-e Anzalī, formerly Bandar-e Pahlavi during the Pahlavi dynasty, is a city in the Central District of Bandar-e Anzali County, Gilan province, Iran, serving as the capital of both the county and the district.
Malavan Bandar Anzali Football Club is an Iranian football club based in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran. It currently won Iran's second football league, the Azadegan League and came back to Persian Gulf Pro League after they were relegated in the 2015–16 season. The team is known to have some of the most passionate fans in Iranian football, and is one of the successful teams that is not based in Tehran. This team is one of the most successful Iranian teams in the Hazfi Cup. Malavan has reached the Hazfi Cup final 7 times and won 3 titles.

The 2013–14 Persian Gulf Cup was the 31st season of Iran's Football League and 13th as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Esteghlal were the defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2012–13 Persian Gulf Cup and two new teams promoted from the 2012–13 Azadegan League: Esteghlal Khuzestan and Gostaresh both as champions. The league started on 24 July 2013 and ended on 11 April 2014. Foolad won the Pro League title for the second time in their history. The 2016–17 Hazfi Cup was the 30th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Zob Ahan Isfahan, the defending champions, were eliminated by Tractor Sazi in the semi-final in extra time. The competition started on 12 September 2016, and the final was played on 11 May 2017. Naft Tehran defeated Tractor Sazi in the final, earning their first title.

Gilan Derby or Classic Gil is a three-way derby between soccer teams in Rasht and Anzali in Gilan province, Iran. The first derby occurred in 1976, with the confrontation between Sepidrud and Malavan in the first round of the Hazfi Cup. This game ended in favor of the students of Bahman Salehnia with two goals from Ghafour Jahani and Aziz Espandar.
Sirous Ghayeghran Stadium is a football stadium in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran. It is the home stadium of Malavan.
