Mahesh Babu and Rameshwari won the Nandi Awards in Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories respectively. It was remade as Arjuna in Odia starring Anubhav Mohanty and Gargi Mohanty and also was later remade as Top Leader in Bangladesh starring Shakib Khan.

This film has brought some fame to the noted Tamil actor Kadhal Dhandapani in Telugu.
Nee Kosam is a 1999 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film produced by Dondeti Bala Reddy under the Kalpana Creations banner. This movie marks the debut of Srinu Vaitla as a director. The film features Ravi Teja and Maheswari in the lead roles. This is also the first collaboration between Ravi Teja and Srinu Vaitla. The music has been composed R. P. Patnaik. The Film went on to win several Nandi Awards for the year 1999, including Rajatha Nandi, Nandi Award for Best Actress, Nandi Award for Best Actor Special Jury, Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director and Best Screenplay Writer.

The narrative centers around Amar, a man suffering from multiple personality disorder, who is on a vengeful killing spree but is often hindered by the emergence of two more personalities he is unaware of.
