Manchester is a city in the northwest of England, historically in Lancashire. It may also refer to:
Poynton is a town in Cheshire, England, on the easternmost fringe of the Cheshire Plain 11 miles (18 km) southeast of Manchester, 7 miles (11 km) north of Macclesfield, and 5 miles (8 km) south of Stockport. In 2011, it had a population of 14,260.
Alexandra Park is a 60-acre (24 ha) park in the Whalley Range district of Manchester, England. It was designed by Alexander Hennell and opened to the public in 1870 with the initial purpose to "deter the working men of Manchester from the alehouses during their day off". The lodge and gateways are the work of Alfred Darbyshire. The park was developed by the Manchester Corporation before the area was incorporated into the city, being sited wholly in the then Withington Local Board area; the site was purchased in 1864 by Manchester Corporation from William Egerton, 1st Baron Egerton. The park today lies between Princess Road, Claremont Road, Demesne Road and Alexandra Road South in the M16 postcode district. Work begun in late 2012 led to major changes in the park.
Woodford is a suburban village in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in Cheshire, England. It lies 5.2 miles (8.4 km) south of Stockport, 5.7 miles (9.2 km) north-northwest of Macclesfield, and 10.7 miles (17.2 km) south-southeast of Manchester. Woodford is the most southerly point of Greater Manchester, in Cheshire and consists of a ribbon of properties along the A5102 road, around which is open countryside.

Hough End Hall is a historic house now in Chorlton-cum-Hardy,, Manchester, North West England. It was built in 1596 during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I by Sir Nicholas Mosley, when he became Lord of the Manor of Manchester and of the dependent Manor of Withington. The Mosleys were an influential Mancunian family from the 16th century onwards, and prominent in the affairs of the Manchester district for two and a half centuries.
Alexandra Park Aerodrome was the second purpose-built aerodrome in the Manchester area in England. The site was chosen by the War Department in 1917 because of its open agricultural nature, and lay between the neighbouring districts of Fallowfield, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Whalley Range, Withington and West Didsbury, at the junction of Princess Road and Mauldeth Road West, three miles south of Manchester's city centre: the land was owned by the Egerton Estate. The aerodrome's brief existence is commemorated on a plaque in the sports pavilion at Hough End Playing Fields, which now occupy part of the site. A commemorative plaque was unveiled on 7 July 2007 to mark the 90th anniversary of the aerodrome and is located in the grounds of No. 184 Squadron, Air Cadets, in Hough End Crescent.
