Bernard Francis McGann was an Australian jazz alto saxophone player. He began his career in the late 1950s and remained active as a performer, composer and recording artist until near the end of his life. McGann won four ARIA Music Awards between 1993 and 2001.
The Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards is an annual series of awards nights celebrating the Australian music industry, put on by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The event has been held annually since 1987 and encompasses the general genre-specific and popular awards as well as Fine Arts Awards and Artisan Awards, Achievement Awards and ARIA Hall of Fame – the latter were held separately from 2005 to 2010 but returned to the general ceremony in 2011. For 2010, ARIA introduced public voted awards for the first time.

Although his main instrument is trumpet, he has also performed on trombone, tuba, euphonium, flugelhorn, saxophone, clarinet, double bass, guitar, and piano. He is a composer, writing jazz charts for ensembles of various sizes and proficiency levels.
Joseph Tawadros is an Egyptian-born Coptic Australian multi-instrumentalist and oud virtuoso. Tawadros has won the ARIA Award for Best World Music Album five times: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2020. and 2021.
Jed Danyel Kurzel is an Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist and film composer. He is a founding member of The Mess Hall, a blues rock duo. His older brother Justin Kurzel is a film director and screenwriter.
James Ledger is an Australian composer of contemporary classical music, and senior lecturer in composition at the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Western Australia, where he is chair of orchestral composition.

The Catholics are an Australian jazz ensemble led by Lloyd Swanton on acoustic and electric bass guitar, percussion and piano. Other long-term members include Sandy Evans on tambourine, tenor and soprano saxophones, and James Greening on trombone. They have been nominated for ARIA Awards for Best Jazz Album in 1994, 1997 and 2000 (Barefoot). Swanton is also a member of a jazz trio, the Necks; Evans was also in Ten Part Invention and has released solo material.
John Robert Gebert is an Australian jazz pianist. The Bobby Gebert Trio was nominated for the 1995 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album with The Sculptor.
The World According to James is an Australian jazz band founded by James Greening. Their album Wayback was nominated for the 2003 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album.
Andrew Robson is an Australian jazz saxophonist.
Col Nolan was an Australian jazz organ and piano player. He was nominated for the 1997 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album with Nolan's Groove, recorded with David Seidel on bass and Laurie Bennett on drums along with guest musicians. The Nolan-Buddle Quartet's 1976 single release of the theme from Picnic at Hanging Rock charted in the Australian top 40.
Paul Grabowsky Trio were an Australian jazz ensemble founded in 1983 by Paul Grabowsky on piano. By 1989 he was joined by Allan Browne on drums and Gary Costello on double bass. They won Best Jazz Album for Six by Three (1989) at the ARIA Music Awards of 1990 and for When Words Fail (1995) in 1996. The trio disbanded in 2001. Gary Costello died in December 2006, aged 54; Browne died in June 2015, aged 70.
Phil Slater is an Australian jazz trumpeter and composer based in the Illawarra region.
Eishan Ensemble are an Australian world/jazz band. Formed and led by the Persian-Australian composer and tar player Hamed Sadeghi, they are known for blending Persian classical music with jazz through original compositions by Sadeghi.
Live in Europe is a live album by Australian world music quintet, Mara!. The album was released in April 2001.
