Marc Anthony (born 28 March 1978) is a former Scottish football player.

Career

Anthony began his career with one appearance for Celtic, before playing for Scottish lower league clubs Forfar and Berwick. In 2007, he moved to Australia where he first played for Football West State League team ECU Joondalup before joining the Stirling Lions. In November 2008 he joined A-League outfit Perth Glory. [3] In 2010, he joined Cockburn City and won the WA State League player of the year for the 2010 season.

Anthony appeared in a Season 5 episode of the U.S. TV series The Office [4] . As described by reddit user kiasam111 [5] , new boss Charles (Idris Elba) walks out of his office to find Andy (Ed Helms) looking at what appears to be a screen-saver with a series of photos of football. A photo appears of two players, taken from an A-League (soccer) game between Central Coast Mariners and Perth Glory, played at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford, Australia, on 31 December 2008 [6] . The players in the photo (taken by Corey Davis of Getty Images) [7] are Anthony (Perth) and Matthew Osman (Central Coast).

The 2006–07 A-League was the 30th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the second season of the A-League since its establishment the previous season. Football Federation Australia hoped to build on the success of the first season and on the interest generated by the Socceroos competing in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Fox Sports had signed a A$120 million deal over 7 years for the exclusive broadcast rights of the A-League, AFC Champions League, and national team matches.
