The March for Arakan was a large-scale demonstration held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on August 25, 2025 that aimed to show solidarity with the Rohingya amid the ongoing conflict in the region.
The ongoing war in Arakan, involving the Arakan Army and the Myanmar military, has led to widespread displacement and human rights violations. The March for Arakan was organized to commemorate the International Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day. [5] [6]
The Bangladesh People's Coalition for Rohingya Rights, an organization comprising students and activists, called for the march to highlight the plight of the Rohingya and to demand international intervention. [7] [8]
The protest began at 3:00 PM from the Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbag and proceeded to the Central Shaheed Minar. Participants included students, activists, and members of various civil society organizations.
