University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Cork (UCC) is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland, and located in Cork.

The Mardyke is an area in Cork city, on the northern half of the long western part of the island formed by the two channels of the River Lee near the city centre. It was historically left as open space, because the land along the north channel of the river is prone to flooding. From east to west these open spaces are: Presentation Brothers College, a boy's secondary school; the Mardyke ground of Cork County Cricket Club; Fitzgerald Park, which includes Cork Public Museum; Sunday's Well Lawn Tennis Club; and the athletic grounds of University College Cork.
Fort-Mardyck is a former commune in the Nord department in northern France. It has been part of the commune of Dunkirk since 9 December 2010. In 1999 it had 3,770 inhabitants.
UCC Demons were an Irish basketball team based in Cork. The team competed in the Super League and played its home games at Mardyke Arena. The team was a division of Blue Demons Basketball Club and was directly associated with the University College Cork.

The Ashbourne Cup is an Irish camogie tournament played each year to determine the national champion university or third level college. The Ashbourne Cup is the highest division in inter-collegiate camogie. The competition features many of the current stars of the game and is sometimes known as the ‘Olympics of Camogie’ because of the disproportionate number of All Star and All-Ireland elite level players who participate each year Since 1972 it has been administered by the Higher Education committee of the Camogie Association.

Richard Beamish Cricket Grounds are a cricket ground in the Mardyke, Cork, Ireland. The cricket field and facilities are located on the southern bank of the River Lee, and overlooked by University College Cork and St Vincent's Catholic Church. The ground is officially named after Richard Beamish, but it is generally called The Mardyke after the area where it is situated, or the Cricket Club as it is the home ground of Cork County Cricket Club. The Munster representative provincial side, the Munster Reds, also use The Mardyke as their home ground.
The Mardyke, also referred as the Mardyke Sports Ground, is the sport and fitness facilities used by sports team representing University College Cork, the general student body, and members of the public. It is based in the Cork district of Mardyke. UCC acquired the grounds in 1911, and rented the main pitch to rugby, soccer, hockey and hurling clubs in the city for a 15% cut of the gate receipts.
University College Cork Association Football Club is an Irish association football club based in Cork. It was founded in 1952 by students at University College Cork. Its senior men's team currently play in the Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division. They also regularly compete in the Collingwood, Crowley and Harding Cups, along with the FAI Intermediate Cup, and FAI Junior Cup. They have also played in the FAI Cup. UCC A.F.C. currently fields teams in the Munster Senior League, the Cork Athletic Union League, and the FAI College & Universities Football League
The Canon O'Brien Cup is an annual hurling match contested between Cork and University College Cork. The match, usually played in January at the Mardyke Sports Ground, is often regarded as a pre-season warm-up game for the two participants.
Munster Reds is an Irish inter-provincial cricket team based in Munster. In April 2017, Cricket Ireland approved the participation of the team in the Interprovincial Twenty20 Cup, the highest level of T20 domestic cricket in Ireland. They joined Leinster Lightning, North West Warriors and Northern Knights in the 2017 tournament. They played their first match in the Inter-Provincial Trophy on 26 May 2017, and won their first match, against North West Warriors, on 6 July 2018. Following the successful end to their 2018 season, there was talk of Munster Reds being included in the Interprovincial One-Day Trophy competition, but while this is an objective of Cricket Ireland, it was confirmed this would not happen in 2019.
The 2020 Canon O'Brien Cup was a hurling game played to determine the champion of the Canon O'Brien Cup for the 2020 season. University College Cork defeated the Cork senior hurling team by 2-18 to 1-20. The game was played on 7 January 2020 in the Mardyke, Cork. This was the seventh staging of Canon O'Brien Cup since 2013.
