Marijeta Mojasevic is a Montenegrin youth advisor and disability rights activist, named one of the 100 BBC most influential women in the world for her work in youth activism and disability empowerment.
Mojasevic was born in Berane in 1988. She suffered a stroke in the summer of 2003 when she was in high school, followed by another half a year later. As a result, she suffered a partial loss of the right side, and diplopia double vision. [1]
She studied at University of Montenegro in the Faculty of Political Science/Department Social Policy and Social Work to become a social worker. She gained her BSc in 2011 and since 2020 has been studying at the same university for her MSc. [2]
During her career, Mojasevic was a Youth Advisor at local Youth Office in Montenegro since 2015, and since 2016 she frequently facilitated workshops with elementary, high school and student population on the topic “Life with disability”, as a stroke survivor. [2]
In 2019, she started her mandate at the Advisory Council on Youth Council of Europe as a Rapporteur on Mainstreaming Disability Issues. Her role is to inform the Joint Council on Youth of key developments relating to the human rights of young people with disabilities and to take the lead on actions to mainstream disability within the Council of Europe Youth Department’s programme of activities. She is an ambassador for OneNeurology, an initiative which aims to make neurological conditions a global public health priority and to bring together and empower groups focused on neurology to work together for better advocacy, action, and accountability. [4]
Mojasevic was named one of the most influencial women in the top 100 BBC women in the world due to her innovative and inspiring methods of working with young people. [1] She uses her voice to challenge attitudes and behavior towards people with neurological disorders. [5]

She was the author of On Our Own: Patient-Controlled Alternatives to the Mental Health System, which is a foundational text in the Mad Pride movement.

Ilwad Elman is a Somali-Canadian social activist. She works at the Elman Peace and Human Rights Center in Mogadishu alongside her mother Fartuun Adan, the NGO's founder. She was voted the African Young Personality (Female) of the Year during the 2016 Africa Youth Awards.
Muniba Mazari Baloch is a Pakistani activist, anchor artist, model, singer and motivational speaker. She became the National Ambassador for UN Women Pakistan after being shortlisted in the 100 Inspirational Women of 2015 by BBC. She also made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2016.
Malvika Iyer is an Indian national, a bilateral amputee from an accidental blast while picking up a diffused grenade, a social worker, and a National Awardee. She is an international motivational speaker and a disability rights activist, advocating for building an inclusive society. She is also a model for accessible fashion. Iyer obtained her Doctorate in Social Work from Madras School of Social Work in 2017. Her doctoral thesis is on the stigmatization of people with disabilities.

Florence Ndagire is a female Ugandan lawyer, who works as a legal researcher and human rights lawyer at the United Nations (UN) based in Geneva, Switzerland. Ndagire, who is totally blind, also serves as the chairperson of the UN Women Regional Group, for Eastern and Southern Africa, comprising twelve countries. She is the first visually impaired person, male or female to qualify and receive licensure as a lawyer in Uganda.
Yvonne Khamati, is a Kenyan politician that was nominated to the East African Legislative Assembly as Member of Parliament by Ford Kenya Party aged 21 and a diplomat who was appointed by President Mwai Kibaki to serve as Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to Ethiopia and African Union at 24. She has served in the past, as the Chair of the Committee of Permanent Representatives and Rapporteur of the African Diplomatic Corp, in the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has worked in various missions. As of November 2018, she served as the deputy ambassador of Kenya at the Kenyan Embassy in Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia. She is currently the C.E.O of the Kenya National Heroes Council, a parastatal under the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage
Roya Rahmani is an Afghan diplomat who served as Afghanistan's first female ambassador to the United States and non-resident ambassador to Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic from December 2018 to July 2021. She is currently the Chair of the international advisory company in development finance — Delphos International LTD. She is also a distinguished fellow at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security, a senior advisor at the Atlantic Council's South Asia Center, and a senior fellow for international security at the New America Foundation. From 2016 to 2018, she served as Afghanistan's first female ambassador to Indonesia, first ever ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and non-resident ambassador to Singapore.
Wanjira Mathai is a Kenyan environmentalist and activist. She is Managing Director for Africa and Global Partnerships at the World Resources Institute, based in Nairobi, Kenya. In this role, she takes on global issues including deforestation and energy access. She was selected as one of the 100 Most Influential Africans by New African magazine in 2018 for her role serving as the senior advisor at the World Resources Institute, as well as for her campaign to plant more than 30 million trees through her work at the Green Belt Movement.
Carla Ravi Koppell is an American academic who serves as interim Vice Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. As part of her work she collaborates with the Volcker Alliance to spearhead the University Leadership Council on Diversity and Inclusion in International Affairs. In that role, she works with deans of graduate schools of public policy and international affairs to incorporate attention to diversity and inclusion in their curricula and programs.
