Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) is a mathematical markup language, an application of XML for describing mathematical notations and capturing both its structure and content. It aims at integrating mathematical formulae into World Wide Web pages and other documents. It is part of HTML5 and an ISO standard ISO/IEC DIS 40314 since 2015.

Scientific calculator calculator designed to calculate problems in science, engineering, and mathematics

A scientific calculator is a type of electronic calculator, usually but not always handheld, designed to calculate problems in science, engineering, and mathematics. They have completely replaced slide rules in traditional applications, and are widely used in both education and professional settings.

In mathematics, a closed-form expression is a mathematical expression that can be evaluated in a finite number of operations. It may contain constants, variables, certain "well-known" operations, and functions, but usually no limit. The set of operations and functions admitted in a closed-form expression may vary with author and context.

Richard E. Bellman American mathematician

Richard Ernest Bellman was an American applied mathematician, who introduced dynamic programming in 1953, and made important contributions in other fields of mathematics.

Differential equation Mathematical equation that contains derivatives of an unknown function

A differential equation is a mathematical equation that relates some function with its derivatives. In applications, the functions generally represent physical quantities, the derivatives represent their rates of change, and the differential equation defines a relationship between the two. Because such relations are extremely common, differential equations play a prominent role in many disciplines including engineering, physics, economics, and biology.

Fishers equation PDE named after statistician and biologist Ronald Fisher

In mathematics, Fisher's equation is the partial differential equation:

The Group 5: Mathematics subjects of the IB Diploma Programme consist of four different mathematics courses. To earn an IB Diploma, a candidate must take one of the following four mathematics courses: Mathematical Studies SL, Mathematics SL, Mathematics HL or Further Mathematics HL. Further Mathematics HL can also be taken as an elective in addition to Mathematics HL. The Computer science SL and rytHL courses, which were elective courses in group 5, is, for first examinations in 2014, a full course in group 4.

Richard Askey American mathematician

Richard Allen Askey was an American mathematician, known for his expertise in the area of special functions. The Askey–Wilson polynomials are on the top level of the Askey scheme, which organizes orthogonal polynomials of hypergeometric type into a hierarchy. The Askey–Gasper inequality for Jacobi polynomials is essential in de Brange's famous proof of the Bieberbach conjecture.

MathType

MathType is a software application created by Design Science that allows the creation of mathematical notation for inclusion in desktop and web applications.

In mathematics, an algebraic expression is an expression built up from integer constants, variables, and the algebraic operations. For example, 3x2 − 2xy + c is an algebraic expression. Since taking the square root is the same as raising to the power 1/2,

Christopher John Budd is a British mathematician known especially for his contribution to non-linear differential equations and their applications in industry. He is currently Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Bath, and Professor of Geometry at Gresham College.

In applied mathematics, the phase space method is a technique for constructing and analyzing solutions of dynamical systems, that is, solving time-dependent differential equations.

Design Science, Inc. is a US-based software company whose products allow editing and display of mathematical notation, mostly on the basis of MathML.
