Mathias Fischer (born July 30, 1971) is a German professional basketball coach and former player. Currently, he is the head coach of Kaohsiung Aquas of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL).
Fischer began his coaching career as an assistant coach with Rhöndorfer TV in 2000 before he took assistant coach positions for Brandt Hagen, BBC Amicale Steinsel and RheinEnergie Köln. Fischer took his first head coach position for the Luxembourg team Black Star Mersch in 2004. Fischer eventually moved to Worthersee Piraten, Allianz Swans Gmunden, and Giessen 46ers. Fischer was appointed head coach of Telekom Baskets Bonn on 5 June 2013. [1]
On July 10, 2024, Fischer was hired as the head coach of the Kaohsiung Aquas of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). [2]
Fischer coached the Luxembourg national team in 2007.

The Kaohsiung Aquas are a Taiwanese professional basketball team based in Kaohsiung City. They have competed in the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL) and play their home games at the Kaohsiung Arena. The Aquas became one of the six teams of the inaugural T1 League season since the 2021–22 season, and became one of the seven teams of the inaugural TPBL season since the 2024–25 season.
The 2024–25 TPBL season is the first season of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL), with the Formosa Dreamers, Hsinchu Toplus Lioneers, Kaohsiung Aquas, New Taipei CTBC DEA, New Taipei Kings, Taipei Taishin Mars, and the Taoyuan Taiwan Beer Leopards participating in this competition. The regular season started on October 19, 2024 and is scheduled to end on May 18, 2025.
