Situated 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Edinburgh's city centre, Mayfield Road is a minor arterial route stretching around 1 mile (1.6 km) from Ratcliffe Terrace in the north to Braefoot Terrace in the south. Intersecting 26 streets and primarily residential in nature, Mayfield Road also contains a church, public park, a south suburban railway bridge, and around 25 businesses, including a baker, barber, builder, doctor, dentist, plumber, nursery, pharmacy and vet clinic.
U.S. Route 322 is a 494 mi (795.0 km) long, east–west United States Highway, traversing Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The road is a spur of U.S. Route 22 and one of the original highways from 1926. A portion of it at one time was concurrent with the Lakes-to-Sea Highway.
