The McEwan's Lager Welsh Classic was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour held in Wales. It was played at Dinas Powys in 1979 and Whitchurch, Cardiff in 1980 and 1981. [1]

The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally. The tour operates tournaments across five continents.

Alexis Noel "Lexi" Thompson is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 12, she was the youngest golfer ever to qualify to play in the U.S. Women's Open. She turned professional in June 2010 at age 15. On September 18, 2011, Thompson set a then new record as the youngest-ever winner of an LPGA tournament, at age 16 years, seven months, and eight days, when she won the Navistar LPGA Classic. Three months later she became the second-youngest winner of a Ladies European Tour event, capturing the Dubai Ladies Masters by four strokes on December 17, 2011. She won her first major championship at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship at the age of 19 years, 1 month and 27 days, making her the second youngest LPGA golfer to win a major.
The Ladies Swiss Open is a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour that is held in Switzerland. It was first played in 1996 and 1997, the first LET event in Switzerland since the Ladies Swiss Classic (1988–1990). It was played 2006–2012 with Deutsche Bank as the title sponsor. After a 8 year hiatus it returned to the LET schedule again in 2020, this time with Liechtenstein-based VP Bank as title sponsor.

Alison Sheard is a South African professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LPGA Tour. As an amateur golfer during the 1970s, Sheard won multiple golf tournaments in South Africa and silver at the 1974 Espirito Santo Trophy. After turning professional in 1976, Sheard played on the Ladies European Tour between the 1970s to 1980s and joined the LPGA Tour in 1980. During her professional career, Sheard became the first-non British champion of the Women's British Open in 1979 and won three other LET events. In other major championships, Sheard tied for 23rd at the 1980 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship and tied for 10th at the 1981 Peter Jackson Classic.
