Jim Wells County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 40,838. Its county seat is Alice. The county was founded in 1911 and is named for James B. Wells, Jr. (1850-1923), for three decades a judge and Democratic Party political boss in South Texas.
Mike A. Myers Stadium is the home of The University of Texas Longhorn track and field and soccer teams and also home to the USATF Elite Running Circuit Austin Track Club. The 20,000-seat stadium hosts the historic Texas Relays annually in April, as well as the University Interscholastic League track and field state championship in May.

Weslaco High School was founded in 1921 alongside the Weslaco Independent School District, and was the first high school serving Weslaco, Texas until the construction of Weslaco East High School in fall 2000. As of today, the high school's present location has not changed since 1973. For the 2009–2010 school year, Weslaco High School is currently a TEA "Recognized" School.
Palito Blanco is an unincorporated community off Farm Road 735, situated fifteen miles southwest of Alice in west central Jim Wells County, Texas, United States.
Alice Municipal Golf Course is located in Alice, Texas, it features 6,099 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 67.8 and it has a slope rating of 108. Alice golf course opened in 1950. Mario Garcia manages the course as the General Manager.
Roadrunner Field is a college baseball stadium in San Antonio, Texas, USA on the main campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio. It is home to the UTSA Roadrunners baseball team, and seats 800. The stadium was opened in 1993. The stadium features a press box with seating for eight, and three indoor batting cages. In 2006, the stadium was renovated, and outfitted with lights that allowed games to be played at night.

Pila Blanca is a ghost town in Duval County, Texas, located a mile and a half south of Highway 44 on Farm-to-Market Road 3196. It is ten miles southeast of Freer and twenty-five miles west of Alice. Today, there are a few residences and buildings remaining, but the precise population is unknown. A cemetery and an old water tower still exist in town.
