In 2007, the Midway Drive-In was purchased by Mike and Mia Kerz (who are also the founders of the Flashback Weekend Movie Conventions in Rosemont, Illinois). [1] The facility then underwent a two-year renovation. The historic Drive-In Screen Tower was refurbished and painted, the projection booth equipment was upgraded, and the concession stand was restored to its original '50's diner decor, including the retro "spaceship" ticket booth and the children's playground. McVicker's Theater (1857–1984) was a playhouse in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Built for actor James Hubert McVicker, the theater was the leading stage for comedic plays in Chicago's early years. It often hosted performances by Edwin Booth, who married McVicker's daughter and was once targeted there in an attempted murder. Adler & Sullivan designed a remodel in 1883. Although destroyed in two fires, including the Great Chicago Fire, McVicker's remained an operating theater until 1984. It was demolished the next year.
The Whiteside County Courthouse is a government building in Morrison, the county seat of Whiteside County, Illinois, United States. Completed in 1987 to replace a 19th-century predecessor, it is the fourth courthouse, in the third community, to serve Whiteside County officials since the county's formation.
