The Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan is a Kyrgyz government ministry tasked with developing the judicial system in Kyrgyzstan.

History

It was created in 1927 as the People's Commissar of Justice. At the end of the Second World War, it became known as the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz SSR. The ministry was reorganized in 1970, and by 1991, it underwent another reorganization upon the independence of Kyrgyzstan from the USSR.

Women in Kyrgyzstan traditionally had assigned roles, although only the religious elite sequestered women as was done in other Muslim societies. Rural inhabitants continue the traditional Siberian tribal practice of bride kidnapping. Bride kidnapping, known as ala kachuu, girls as young as 12 years old are kidnapped for forced marriage, by being captured and carried away by groups of men or even relatives who, through violence or deception, take the girl to the abductor's family who forces and coerces the young woman to accept the illegal marriage. In most cases, the young woman is raped immediately in the name of marriage.[8]

Uran Toktonazarovich Botobekov is a Kyrgyz scholar, journalist, diplomat and publicist. He was an opposition activist until 2016 when he emigrated. He is also the author of more than 60 scientific and analytical articles on politics, religion and economy of the post-Soviet Central Asian states. His scientific works were published in magazines in several countries.

Ulukbek Asamidinovich Maripov is a Kyrgyz politician who served as Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan from 5 May 2021 to 12 October 2021. He was the first to serve in this position, serving in this position after the post of Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan was abolished. Prior to being appointed prime minister Maripov had led the Kyrgyz Account Chamber.

Akylbek Üsönbek uulu Japarov is a Kyrgyz politician serving as Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan since 12 October 2021. He replaced Ulukbek Maripov, who had been appointed to the new role by President Sadyr Japarov on 5 May 2021. Aqılbek is also concurrently the Head of the Presidential Administration under President Japarov.

The Social Democrats is a political party in Kyrgyzstan founded in late 2019 by supporters of former President Almazbek Atambayev – legal successor from the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDKP). After a conflict between Atambaev and his successor President Sooronbai Jeenbekov emerged and deepened in 2018, Atambayev accused of Jeenbekov in attempting to seize authority over the SDKP, a party that Atambayev himself formed in 1990s and served as a leader of. The SDK participated in the annulled 2020 parliamentary election. The current party leader is Temirlan Sultanbekov.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan is the ministry of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic charged with regulating and promoting the educational and scientific work in the country. The ministry is the main governmental authority overseeing the quality of education, the acquisition of knowledge by students, and the development of a comprehensive national education system. As the direct successor of the People's Commissariat of Education of the Kirghiz Autonomous Socialist Soviet Republic, established in 1927, the ministry is one of the oldest state institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
