Mir Shamsi was a mystic and a saint who lived in the Indian village of Karhan, Uttar Pradesh.
Karahan is a village in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He was born Syed Shamsuddin, and was the mooris-e-aala of Saadat Karhan district Mau. (The mooris-e-aala is the patriarch of the family.) He died in the year 1651 AD. Not many records exist of his life, but this information can be read off his tombstone at his mazaar that is frequented by the locals and other who come to pay homage and ask for wishes to be granted.
Mau, now known as Maunath Bhanjan, is a city located in Uttar Pradesh, India. This city is the headquarters of the Mau district.
In his lifetime, he had a reputation for helping people. He was born into a wealthy family, and helped the people of Karhan by getting a lake dug. This provided the villagers with much needed employment and water.
Recently[ when? ] a local politician whose wish of winning an election was fulfilled, built a structure to cover his originally unpretentious grave.
Mir Shamsi is also an ancestor of the poet, author, intellectual, bureaucrat and Indian independence activist Ali Jawad Zaidi and Shamim Karhani (Syed Shahsuddin Haider) who was an Urdu poet of the 20th century.

Mir Babar Ali Anees (1803–1873), also known as Mir Anees was an Urdu poet. He used his pen-name (thakallus) of Anees. Anees used Persian, Hindi, Arabic, and Sanskrit words in his poetry. Anis wrote prolonged Marsias, which was a custom of his times, but nowadays only selected sections are narrated even in religious ceremonies. He died in 1291 Hijra, corresponding with 1874 CE

Nazeer Akbarabadi (1740–1830) was an 18th-century Indian poet known as "Father of Nazm", who wrote Urdu ghazals and nazms under nom de plume (takhallus) "Nazeer", most remembered for his poems like Banjaranama, a satire. His father was Muhammad Farooq and his mother was the daughter of Nawab Sultan Khan who was the governor of Agra Fort. Agra, the Indian city, was known as Akbarabad after Mughal emperor Akbar at that time. He used simple, everyday language in his poems, which made them popular in the masses.
