Shekhar Kulbhushan Kapur is an Indian filmmaker and actor. Kapur was born into the Anand-Sahni family, Kapur is the recipient of several accolades, including a BAFTA Award, a National Film Award, a National Board of Review Award and three Filmfare Awards, in addition to nomination for a Golden Globe Award.
Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. Ghare Baire is a 1984 Indian Bengali-language romantic drama film directed and written by Satyajit Ray. Based on Rabindranath Tagore's novel of the same name, starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Victor Banerjee, Jennifer Kendal and Swatilekha Chatterjee. Godavari is a 2021 Indian Marathi-language drama film directed by Nikhil Mahajan and produced by Jitendra Joshi, Mitali Joshi, Pavan Malu and Nikhil Mahajan under the banner of Blue Drop Films. Starring Neena Kulkarni, Jitendra Joshi and Vikram Gokhale, the film tells a story of a family living on the banks of river Godavari in Nashik. It had its world premiere at 2021 Vancouver International Film Festival on 4 October 2021, and scheduled to release in theatres in India on 3 December 2021.
Toolsidas Junior is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age sports film written and directed by Mridul Mahendra, who based it on his own life and childhood. Produced jointly by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series Films along with Sunita Gowariker and co-screenwriter Ashutosh Gowariker in his first production-only venture under Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Rajiv Kapoor, Dalip Tahil and debutante Varun Buddhadev in the lead roles, marking Kapoor's final and posthumous release following his death in February 2021, while Ankur Vikal, Chinmai Chandrashuh, Tasveer Kamil and Sara Arjun play supporting roles.
