Mohamed Niang (born 1976 in Dakar, Senegal) is a retired professional basketball player, who lastly played for British Basketball League rookies Everton Tigers, with whom he signed for in 2007.
After attending the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne in France from 1994 to 1996, the 6 ft 10 in Centre then moved to the U.S. and to the University of Delaware, where from 1996 to 1999 he played on the university's Blue Hens basketball team.[ citation needed ]
In his first season, he played 12 games, scoring five points and pulled 10 rebounds. The 1997–98 season saw him feature in 11 games, scoring nine points, pulling six rebounds and blocking two shots.[ citation needed ]
Mohamed was a fifth round pick for the Huntsville Flight in the 2001-02 inaugural draft of the National Basketball Development League (Now called NBA D-League).[ citation needed ]
Niang most recently played in Denmark for Aalborg in 2004, averaging 22.5 pts, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1.4 assists. He coached the team the following season while recovering from ACL injury and signed up to be a player/coach for Everton Tigers during the summer of 2007.[ citation needed ]
Anfernee Deon "Penny" Hardaway is an American college basketball coach and former professional player who is the head coach of the Memphis Tigers men's team in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). Hardaway played college basketball at Memphis and 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he was a four-time NBA All-Star and a three-time All-NBA Team member.
Kenyon Lee Martin Sr. is an American former professional basketball player who played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). As a power forward, he played for the New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA, and the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of China. He played college basketball for the Cincinnati Bearcats and was named the national college player of the year during his senior season. Martin was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets. He was an NBA All-Star in 2004.
Ronald Fred Seikaly is a Lebanese-American former professional basketball player. He was one of the first internationally born players to make an impact on American basketball. Considered one of the top college players from the Syracuse basketball program, Seikaly's stellar offense and defense placed him among the school's all-time leaders in rebounds, points and blocks, while earning several nationally recognized awards and honors. Drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) by the Miami Heat with the 9th pick of the 1988 draft and the first-ever pick for the Heat, Seikaly developed into one of the best centers in the NBA and the team's top offensive and defensive contributors—winning NBA player of the week twice—and also amassing many of the team's records . His career highs with the Heat are 40 points, 34 rebounds, 8 blocks, 8 assists, and 5 steals. Seikaly earned the 1990 NBA Most Improved Player Award and later played for the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets and in Spain with FC Barcelona. He was also part of the United States national basketball team during the 1986 FIBA World Championship, winning gold. After his retirement from basketball, Seikaly became a successful real estate developer. He also works in electronic music as a producer/DJ, and hosted his radio show, Sugar Free Radio, on Sirius/XM.
DerMarr Miles Johnson is a retired American basketball player and current assistant coach who most recently was an assistant coach at West Virginia and retired professional basketball player who played seven seasons in the NBA.

The Mersey Tigers were a professional basketball team based in the city of Liverpool, England. The club was established in 2007 as a start-up franchise of the British Basketball League, the country's elite competition. The Tigers started competing at the start of the 2007–08 season, and won the BBL Cup in their second season as well as finishing as runners-up in the league. In 2013 it was officially announced that the Tigers franchise had been withdrawn from the BBL due to financial difficulties that had plagued the club throughout the previous season, which resulted in the Tigers becoming the first ever BBL club to complete an entire season without a single victory.
