Mojo is a carbonated soft drink with a cola flavor manufactured by the Akij Food and Beverage Limited (AFBL). [1]

History

The brand was launched in April 2006 by Akij Group's sister project Akij Food & Beverage Limited (AFBL). [2] [3] Mojo manufactures and distributes not only domestically but also exports and distributes abroad. Mojo is exported to 47 countries around the world. [4] [5]

The Muslims of Bangladesh have boycotted the products of various companies, including Coca-Cola, which was accused of supporting the state of Israel. There is a heated discussion in Bangladesh about these boycotts. That is why the sales of Bangladeshi product Mojo soft drink has increased tremendously and compared to 2023 the sales of Coca Cola in Bangladesh has decreased by 60 percent this year (2024). [6]

Philanthropy

For every bottle of Mojo sold, 1 tk goes to aid Palestine. [7] On 2 January 2024, Sheikh Shamim Uddin, chairman of Akij Group, presented a cheque of 50 lakh taka to the Palestinian ambassador. [8] Through the World Food Program (WFP), Akij Welfare Trust and Mojo have donated Tk 6,17,50,000 to Gaza and Tk 1,50,00,000 to Palestine Embassy as of June 2024. [9]

Blue Sky Beverage Company was a beverage company that produced soft drinks and energy drinks. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Monster Beverage Corporation. The company was established in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1980, where it remained until it was purchased by Monster in 2000. Coca-Cola North America took ownership of Blue Sky Sodas, Hansen’s Juice Products, Hansen’s Natural Sodas, Hubert’s Lemonade, Peace Tea and other non-energy drink brands as part of Coke’s partnership with Monster Beverage Corp on Jun 12, 2015. Blue Sky Beverage Company now operates out of Corona, California. The southwestern look and feel of the artwork on the soda cans is reminiscent of the company's roots in New Mexico.
