Mosvik is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality was part of the Innherred region. The 219.37-square-kilometre (84.70 sq mi) municipality existed from 1901 until its dissolution in 2012. The old municipality encompassed the southern part of what is now Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county. The municipality was located along the western shore of the Trondheimsfjorden and on the southwestern end of the Beitstadfjorden. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Mosvik where Mosvik Church is located. Other villages located near the village of Mosvik include Trongsundet, Framverran, Venneshamn, and Kjerringvik.
Verran is a former municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1901 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was divided between Steinkjer Municipality and Indre Fosen Municipality. It was part of the Innherred region. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Malm. Other villages in Verran included Follafoss, Sela, Verrabotn, and Verrastranda.

The Skarnsund Bridge is a 1,010-metre (3,310 ft) long concrete cable-stayed bridge that crosses the Skarnsundet strait in Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. When finished in 1991, it replaced the Vangshylla–Kjerringvik Ferry and it gives the communities in Indre Fosen Municipality easier access to the central areas of Innherred. The bridge is the only road crossing of the Trondheimsfjord, and is located along Norwegian County Road 755.
Meltingvatnet is a lake on the border of Indre Fosen Municipality and Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The lake is a reservoir that holds water for the Mosvik power plant. The water flows out of the lake into the Mossa river which flows into the village of Mosvik.

Mosvik og Verran is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The 552-square-kilometre (213 sq mi) municipality existed from 1867 until 1901 when it was split into two. It was located on the Fosen peninsula, on the west side of the Trondheimsfjord. It included the southern part of what is now Inderøy Municipality and the western part of the present-day Steinkjer Municipality. The municipality was centered around the Verrasundet strait, a branch of the Trondheimsfjord. The administrative centre was the village of Mosvik where the Mosvik Church was located.
Innherredsferja AS was a Norwegian ferry operator in the Trondheimsfjord in Nord-Trøndelag county. It operated the Levanger–Hokstad Ferry between the town of Levanger and the island of Ytterøya, and the Vangshylla–Kjerringvik Ferry between Inderøy Municipality and Mosvik Municipality. The company operated seven ferries through its history, and had up to three operating at any time, including one in reserve. Innherredsferja was based in Levanger.
Utøya is a village area in Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village sits about halfway between the village of Vangshylla and the village of Sakshaug. The village of Kjerknesvågen lies about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) to the north and the Trondheimsfjord lies just to the south. The area of Utøya generally includes the area around the village which is the southern part of the Inderøya peninsula.
Vangshylla is a village in Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located at the southwest end of the Inderøya peninsula in the Utøya area, surrounded on two sides by the Trondheimsfjord. The village sits at the southern end of the Skarnsundet strait. Until 1991, when the Skarnsund Bridge opened, Vangshylla served as a ferry and fishing port. Since 1964, it was served by the Vangshylla–Kjerringvik Ferry. It has since been converted into a marina and tourist center with rental accommodation for fishing in the Skarnsundet.
Venneshamn is a village in Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Trondheimsfjord on the northeastern end of the Fosen peninsula. The village is located about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of the village of Mosvik, and about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north of the village of Kjerringvika and the Skarnsund Bridge that crosses the Skarnsundet strait. The village of Framverran lies about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northwest of Venneshamn. Verran Sparebank was based in Venneshamn until 2006 when it merged with Grong Sparebank. There was also a general store here until it closed in August 2008.

The 91.2-kilometre (56.7 mi) road runs from the village of Røra in Inderøy Municipality to the village of Vanvikan in Indre Fosen Municipality. It was known as Norwegian National Road 755 before 2010 when control of the road was transferred from the national government to the county.
Framverran is a village in Inderøy Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the village of Mosvik, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northwest of the village of Venneshamn, and about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northeast of Trongsundet. The village sits along the Beitstadfjorden, southeast of the mouth of the Verrasundet and northwest of the mouth of the Skarnsundet strait.
Inderøy District Court was a district court in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The court was based in the town of Steinkjer. The court existed from 1635 until 2021. It had jurisdiction over the municipalities of Steinkjer, Inderøy, Snåsa, Mosvik, Verran, and Namdalseid. Cases from this court could be appealed to Frostating Court of Appeal. Despite being named "Inderøy", the court was actually located in the neighboring Steinkjer Municipality. This court had one professional judge and one deputy judge, plus an administration of five people. In 2006, the court handled 280 criminal cases and 70 civil cases plus summary procedures.

It is one of the two churches for the Mosvik parish which is part of the Stiklestad prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style using plans drawn up by the architect Jon Rostad. The church seats about 275 people.
