Nath, also called Natha, are a Shaivist sub-tradition within Hinduism. A medieval movement, it combined ideas from Buddhism, Shaivism and Yoga traditions in India. The Naths have been a confederation of devotees who consider Shiva, as their first lord or guru, with varying lists of additional lords. Of these, the 9th or 10th century Matsyendranath and the ideas and organization mainly developed by Gorakhnath are particularly important. Gorakhnath is considered the originator of the Nath Panth.
Chandra Shekhar Azad, popularly known as by his self-taken name Azad, was an Indian revolutionary who reorganised the Hindustan Republican Association under its new name of Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA) after the death of its founder, Ram Prasad Bismil, and three other prominent party leaders, Roshan Singh, Rajendra Nath Lahiri and Ashfaqulla Khan. He often used the pseudonym "Balraj" when signing pamphlets issued as the commander in chief of the HSRA.

The Nath Bank was an Indian-owned bank founded by Kshetra Nath Dalal in 1926 in Noakhali, now in Bangladesh but then in undivided India. By 1947 when the Partition of India was imminent, Nath Bank had its head office and three branches in Noakhali district, as well as a branch in Comilla in Tipperah District. Noakhali and Tipperah districts were to become a part of Pakistan, so the bank shifted its head office to Kolkata. During this time the Indian banks were facing severe crisis. In 1949, the Nath Bank had to be bailed out by the Reserve Bank of India. Even that failed to resolve the crisis and the bank was finally liquidated in 1950. Economist Arun Ghosh attributes its collapse to its over-aggressive expansion of branch banking. The failure of the Nath Bank created a panic among investors.

Omkar Nath Sharma born in India also known as the "Medicine Baba". is a retired blood bank technician from Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, who voluntarily collects unused medicines from people and distributes them to the poor for free of charge. Omkar started collecting medicine after realising the acute medicine shortage, when he witnessed the Delhi Metro under-construction bridge collapsed in East Delhi in 2008, claiming the lives of two labourers and injuring many others. The local hospital administered basic first aid but nothing else. The injured returned home to die being unable to afford the cost of treatment. That incident shook Omkar and he became determined to not let something like this happen again.
Ram Nath Kovind is an Indian politician currently serving as the 14th President of India, in office since 25 July 2017. Previously he had served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006. Kovind was nominated as a presidential candidate by the ruling NDA coalition and won the 2017 presidential election.
